While the swamp is not exactly known for its immense work ethic, they sure snapped to attention during a recent – and very rare – overnight voting session.
Yet that overnight voting session proved to be necessary, handing Trump a much-deserved victory on border security.
As stressed by Senator John Thune, the most recent budget resolution directly aligns with the policies Americans voted for, which is why it needed to pass without excessive delays.
“Under the leadership of Senator Graham – Chairman Graham – will move forward with a budget resolution that will address many of the topics that we think are of immediate concern to the American people and priorities of President Trump and his administration,” Thune declared on his official political webpage.
Indeed, in a 52-48 vote, the Senate passed a bill that will substantially enhance border security.
As reported by Fox News, all Republicans, with the exception of Senator Rand Paul, voted in favor of the bill.
Meanwhile, every single Democrat senator voted against the bill, which is to be expected.
Especially when considering the pro-America contents of the bill.
“Starting with securing our southern border, we desperately need resources to make sure that our leaders – and we heard from a couple of them today, and Senator Graham will speak to that in just a minute – have the resources that they need to do the job that the American people expect us to do, and that is to keep our southern border secure. It is a national security issue, it’s an economic security issue,” Thune intoned.
Well, imagine that. Every single Democrat senator voted against national security and economic security. Is anyone really surprised at this point?
“Secondly, obviously, and just as importantly, is making sure that our military and our defense is ready to deal with any threat that exists around the world,” Thune added.
Well, the Democrats are certainly intent on dumping billions in Ukraine while simultaneously siding with Hamas … but siding with the American military? Not so much. Unless, of course, they are siding with varied DEI initiatives in the military.
Senator Lindsey Graham was also one of the main architects of the bill, highlighting the ways in which it addresses several key needs.
“As Senate Budget Committee Chairman, I’m incredibly pleased by the discipline shown by my Senate Republican colleagues to ensure that the most transformational border security bill in history can soon become a reality,” Graham declared.
Without a doubt.
And that security bill will transform national security that desperately needs to be transformed.
Graham also noted that the House bill, which Trump has really been gunning for, is also in progress and will hopefully be addressed as well shortly.
“I hope the House can pass one big bill that meets President Trump’s priorities. But this approach provides money that we needed yesterday to continue the momentum on securing our border, enforcing our immigration laws, and rebuilding our military. Time is of the essence,” Graham added.
Indeed, it is.
Which is why Trump congratulated the Senate promptly on its overnight victory.
“Thank you to Majority Leader John Thune, and the Republican Senate, for working so hard on funding the Trump Border Agenda. We are setting records, the likes of which have never been seen before, on stopping criminal illegals aliens from entering our Country. Put simply, we are delivering for the American People, far faster and, more successfully, than anyone thought possible. Your work on funding this effort is greatly appreciated!” Trump proclaimed on Truth Social.
