Pfizer Gets (More) Billions From US Taxpayers

Bloomberg recently issued a stunning report that reveals the extent to which German pharmaceutical giant Pfizer will benefit from American taxpayers.

Specifically, the pharmaceutical company, which has routinely enjoyed FDA clearance first, including nearly $5B from $10B in funding set aside from the pandemic.

Originally, the White House attempted to demand $22.5B.

Apparently, the U.S. Government owes the German giant nearly $5B for 10 million covid antiviral pills that were ordered in January. At the time, the government justified the expense by claiming the omicron variant was spiking across the nation.

According to a spokesperson from Pfizer, the company has opted to continue working with the American government in order “to help broaden patient access to Paxlovid.”

“We are confident that the administration will fulfill its purchasing commitments,” the Pfizer spokesperson boomed.

Despite the confidence Pfizer has publicly expressed about receiving billions from American taxpayers for Biden’s purchases, GOP Senators are threatening this funding if the Democrats refuse to get in line about other serious issues.

Specifically, Republicans in the Senate have refused to support the $10B deal for COVID unless the Democrats agree to a vote on an amendment regarding illegal immigration.

According to Jeff Zients, who serves as the White House COVID-19 response coordinator, the  $10B COVID bill is “a start.”

“Congress must keep working to immediately provide additional funding for our remaining domestic needs,” Zients blared.
