Xavier Becerra, the Department of Human and Health Services (HHS) Secretary, has recently proclaimed that the federal government is well within its rights to know which individuals in the United States have been vaccinated. Becerra delivered his response after GOP representatives became angered by Biden’s infringements on person liberty.
In a recent appearance on CNN, Becerra proclaimed that the federal government has spent multiple trillions of dollars in order “to try to keep Americans alive during this pandemic.” Consequently, “it is absolutely the government’s business” to know about which individuals have been vaccinated and which ones have not.
Becerra also claimed that taxpayers had the right to know about individuals’ vaccination status, as they are also impacted by the pandemic.
In essence, Becerra resoundingly disagreed with various arguments from conservatives regarding the Biden administration, including the fact that Biden is brazenly attempting to override individuals’ personal decisions regarding vaccination. His commentary emerges just days after Biden announced his intentions for the administration to shift its attention away from having as many Americans vaccinated as possible to areas that are well known for having extremely low vaccination rates.
These areas include various states across the South and Midwest. Biden asserted that his administration intended to “go to community by community … and oftentimes door to door, literally knocking on doors.” This plan drew harsh rebukes from GOP representatives.
For instance, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), remarked that the Biden administration is not his mother or father, and while he agrees with “[making] the vaccine available,” he also believes that people should be free to choose.
How about don’t knock on my door.
You’re not my parents. You’re the government. Make the vaccine available, and let people be free to choose.
Why is that concept so hard for the left? https://t.co/Fkv3kzNh6S

In addition, Arizona GOP Rep. Andy Biggs sent out a tweet earlier in the week, noting that “the nine most terrifying words in the English language” as of 2021 are as follows: “I’m from the government, have you been vaccinated yet?”
Moroever, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), tweeted that if the Biden administration intended to go door to door this year, then the same administration very well may decide to go “door to door” in 2022 in order to confiscate guns.
Currently, over 67 percent of American adults have received at least a single dose of the COVID vaccine, per data from the CDC. Nearly 60 percent of American adults have the received full COVID vaccination.
