Boy, is Obama the gift that keeps on giving, even thirteen years after he finally left office.
That said, Obama clearly undertook a number of questionable actions during his time in office, especially with regards to the varied activist judges that he thought it would be a great idea to appoint.
Especially when those judges are the exact same ones that block pro-Hamas protestors from deportation, years down the road.
On June 7, 2011, the Obama administration announced that it had appointed Margo Kitsy Brodie, Jesse M. Furman, Susie Morgan, and Mary Elizabeth Phillips to serve on the United States District Court.
As revealed in a press release archived in NARA, Emperor Obama was sure to highlight the alleged “dedication to justice” that his then-latest round of appointees supposedly demonstrated.
“Throughout their careers these individuals have shown a dedication to justice. I am proud to nominate them to serve the American people from the district court bench,” Obama boomed.
Is that so?
Well, the Obama appointees have a rather odd definition of “justice,” considering their willingness to go to bat for pro-Hamas protestors that lead to Jewish students fearing for their lives across multiple campuses.
As that’s exactly what Judge Jesse Furman just did – block, at least temporarily, the DHS’s efforts to remove a rabid pro-Hamas protestor who caused untold division and destruction.
The pro-Hamas agitator, Mahmoud Khalil, is an avowed hater of Israel, and per the DHS, a potential, official affiliate of Hamas.
Indeed, Secretary of State Marco Rubio was reportedly “presented with intelligence,” per a recent article in the New York Post.
Which is why DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin asserted the importance of deporting Khalil for matters of national security.
“In coordination with the Department of State, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Mahmoud Khalil, a former Columbia University graduate student. Khalil led activities aligned to Hamas, a designated terrorist organization,” McLaughlin declared.
On top of that, Khalil apparently graduated from an Ivy League school to become a full-time protestor, as reported by the New York Post.
“Khalil, who earned his graduate degree at the School of International and Public Affairs, was the lead negotiator for Columbia United Apartheid Divest – a group that sympathizes with terror organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah and calls for the ‘end of Western civilization’ – during last spring’s anti-Israel protests and student encampment at the university. Despite graduating in December, Khalil’s involvement in disruptive campus protests continued at nearby Columbia-affiliated Barnard College, which was the site of two campus building takeovers in recent weeks,” the New York Post detailed.
So, in other words, Khalil did not appear to be contributing anything of value to American society, aside from its continued destruction and apparent launch towards pro-Hamas extremism.
And, perhaps most hysterically of all, the rabid leftists believe that Khalil is apparently justified in his reported support of terrorism because of – you guessed it – the U.S. Constitution.
Hint: Don’t attempt to find logic in leftist “logic.” It’s an exercise in complete futility.
Once again, Khalil is not even an American citizen, yet the left is suddenly up in arms about the state of his First Amendment rights.
Amy E. Greer, Khalil’s woke attorney, was sure to fan the flames of division by going as far as to claim that DHS’s targeting of Khalil was “illegal.”
“The remarks by government officials, including the President, on social media only confirm the purpose – and illegality – of Mahmoud’s detention. He was chosen as an example to stifle entirely lawful dissent in violation of the First Amendment,” Greer proclaimed.
Is that so?
Odd that the leftists suddenly have no concern with the First Amendment, one of the amendments that they challenge about as frequently as the Second Amendment, when it suits them.
President Donald Trump, however, is unimpressed by the leftist militants’ apparent devotion to Khalil, which he made abundantly clear in recent postings to his social media platform.
In a post to Truth Social, Trump asserted that the arrest of Khalil may have been the first, but it certainly will not be the last.
“Following my previously signed Executive Orders, ICE proudly apprehended and detained Mahmoud Khalil, a Radical Foreign Pro-Hamas Student on the campus of Columbia University. This is the first arrest of many to come,” Trump declared.
About time. No more tea and biscuits from pro-terrorist agitators under Trump’s watch.
In fact, quite the reverse.
“We will find, apprehend, and deport these terrorist sympathizers from our country –never to return again. If you support terrorism, including the slaughtering of innocent men, women, and children, your presence is contrary to our national and foreign policy interests, and you are not welcome here,” Trump continued.
It’s amazing that an American president has to insist upon not welcoming pro-terrorist exploiters to the United States fewer than 25 years after the September 11 attacks, but that’s the apparent state of “change” that Obama gleefully brought about.
May that type of “change” sink off a cliff in the near future …
