Looks like the blowback from the Dems’ pro-crime policies is finally hitting home.
Recently, the Senate issued a warning to lawmakers and Capitol Hill staff regarding the rise in violent crime around Washington D.C.
“Local authorities note an increase in carjacking incidents in and around Capitol Hill and the District of Columbia,” the Senate warned, before segueing into rather basic safety advice.
“Always keep doors locked and windows up … Don’t stop to assist a stranger with a broken-down car; call the police from a safe location instead,” the Senate intoned.
Hopefully, enough police will be available to address the undoubted influx in calls, courtesy of criminals feeling empowered by the feckless White House.
“Your safety is paramount; surrender your car without argument and swiftly leave the area … Attempt to recall the carjacker’s physical details (gender, race, age, hair/eye color, distinctive features, clothing),” the Senate warning added.
Well, well, well. All of the sudden it’s acceptable to identify “gender” and “race” in a negative context when it comes to the protection of the top lieutenants of the swamp.
Who clearly haven’t dealt with the rise in crime in the way multiple other, far less coddled Americans have been.
Given the huge rise in crime throughout the swamp, one can only wonder if the ultra-woke mayor of the swamp, Muriel Bowser, feels any qualms about her dramatically anti-police stance.
In a 2020 interview with NPR, Bowser bragged that “non-law-enforcement initiatives” might apparently stop crime, a rather laughable claim.
“We know, certainly I do, what our public safety needs are in Washington, D.C., and they’re not just policing. They include all of our opportunities to equalize opportunity. And all of our non-law-enforcement initiatives that are meant to interrupt violence,” Bowser bragged.
Those initiatives have been so good at “interrupting violence” that Senators don’t even feel safe in the swamp three years later.
“My budget doesn’t fund [law enforcement] a penny more than we need,” Bowser continued to boast, claiming that her budget also is “certainly not a penny less” for the police.
Rising crime rates would suggest otherwise.
And, for that matter, so would Republicans.
Amanda Peper, who works as a scheduler for Republican Senator Katie Britt, suffered from a direct attack in the nation’s capital, underscoring Republican anger over Democrat irresponsibility.
“It is infuriating and completely unacceptable that an American who is on Capitol Hill to serve her country cannot safely walk the streets of Washington, D.C., at 8:30 at night because of the out-of-control crime in this city,” Senator Britt’s office declared.
Is it ever.
Democrats have also suffered from the rise in crime, including Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar, who was recently carjacked.
“Three guys came out of nowhere, and they pointed guns at me … I looked at one with a gun and another with a gun out the one behind me. So, they said they wanted my car, and I said, ‘Sure,’” Cuellar nervously recalls.
May Cuellar serve as a wakeup call for his party.
Needless to say, quite a few commenters online were rather amused by the Senate’s crime warning.
“I was told that anti-police and soft-on-crime policies would solve the problems of violence, armed robberies, assaults, shoplifting, and a myriad of other crimes in these urban areas,” one individual drawled.
On the contrary …
