With under three weeks remaining until President-elect Donald Trump ascends to the Oval Office, it appears that the Supreme Court has issued a friendly reminder for all public “servants” to respect the rule of law.
A respect that was massively deficient throughout the Biden administration.
And, in an effort to remind Americans of just how dangerous an administration can be when it opts to veer away from checks and balances, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts published a rather compelling report that outlines all the ways in which the judiciary must have independence from forces that seek to undermine it.
“It is not in the nature of judicial work to make everyone happy. Most cases have a winner and a loser. Every Administration suffers defeats in the court system—sometimes in cases with major ramifications for executive or legislative power or other consequential topics …
Nevertheless, for the past several decades, the decisions of the courts, popular or not, have been followed, and the Nation has avoided the standoffs that plagued the 1950s and 1960s,” Roberts wrote.
For the most part … until progressives have become increasingly illiterate, or otherwise indifferent, in key matters of civics.
Roberts then strongly implied that the last few years have been riddled with massive disrespect for the judiciary branch, the evidence of which abounds after several key rulings.
“Within the past few years, however, elected officials from across the political spectrum have raised the specter of open disregard for federal court rulings … These dangerous suggestions, however sporadic, must be soundly rejected. Judicial independence is worth preserving. As my late colleague Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg wrote, an independent judiciary is ‘essential to the rule of law in any land,’ yet it ‘is vulnerable to assault; it can be shattered if the society law exists to serve does not take care to assure its preservation,” Roberts continued.
Isn’t that the truth.
And while Roberts did not directly name names, the Biden regime has been absolutely notorious in terms of wholly disregarding Supreme Court rulings.
For instance, in the middle of 2021, the Supreme Court struck down the continued extension of rent moratoriums, citing that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had no authority to issue rent moratoriums in the first place.
Quite logical, actually – since when does a public health authority regulate rent?
Naturally, wannabe Empress Pelosi immediately ranted against the ruling, using literally nothing but feelings in her response.
“Earlier this month, thanks to the leadership of President Biden and Congressional Democrats, the imminent fear of eviction and being put out on the street was lifted for countless families across America with the issuing of a new CDC eviction moratorium. Last night, the Supreme Court immorally ripped away that relief in a ruling that is arbitrary and cruel,” Pelosi raged.
Ah. So now the Supreme Court is “arbitrary” and “cruel” for daring to state that a public health authority has no business regulating rental practices.
Real logical.
“Eviction is a horror that no family should ever have to experience – with cribs and personal belongings on the street, children in fear and distress and parents struggling to find basic shelter … Putting people out of their homes and forcing them to crowd in with others is also a public health risk as the delta variant accelerates,” Pelosi continued warbling.
Newsflash, Pelosi: Plenty of people were “crowding” each other at the border during the last four years, but that’s just too logical a conclusion to contemplate.
Indeed, “progressives” have been especially keen on disregarding rulings that don’t suit them, which was especially evident during the pandemic period.
As a new administration prepares to sweep in mere weeks from now, Americans can certainly look forward to the return of sensible new policies … assuming that the Democrats do not fight tooth and nail to disable them.
“I urge all Americans to appreciate this inheritance from our founding generation and cherish its endurance,” Roberts added.
May that appreciation abound after Trump’s ascension, following Biden’s “eviction” in a few weeks’ time.
