While the Russia-Ukraine War has been full of twists (alongside billions of dollars of unaccounted for taxpayer funds), perhaps one of the most startling twists of all includes the rather obvious explosion of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
Especially as President Biden himself threatened the pipeline before Russian President Putin invaded Ukraine close to a year ago.
Not to mention the fact that the explosion has long been blamed on Russia, though why Russia would want to blow up its own pipelines has long been a point of consternation for people with the capacity to think.
After all, would the United States blow up its own ports or other key economic infrastructure?
Ironically, former President Trump had previously placed sanctions upon the Nord Stream 2 out of fears that Putin may eventually weaponize energy during conflict, which is precisely what appeared to happen.
Biden, for some strange reason, removed the sanctions, though perhaps that removal was not so strange after all, as observed by investigative journalist Seymour Hersh.
Hersh, who exposed the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam, wrote a highly detailed analysis regarding his firm beliefs regarding American involvement in the Nord Stream 2 pipeline explosion.
Starting with the fact that the United States absolutely had the capacity, alongside the motivation, to do so.
“[The U.S. Navy’s Diving and Salvage Center] has been training highly skilled deep-water divers for decades who, once assigned to American military units worldwide, are capable of technical diving to do the good – using C4 explosives to clear harbors and beaches of debris and unexploded ordinance – as well as the bad, like blowing up foreign oil rigs, fouling intake valves for undersea power plants, destroying locks on crucial shipping canals,” Hersh observes.
In other words, the U.S. Navy is more than capable of highly covert operations, which is precisely what the Nord Stream 2 pipeline explosion was.
Moreover, the U.S. Navy was also spotted in the Baltic Sea, not long before the convenient explosion that would further divorce European and Russian economic activity.
“Last June, the Navy divers, operating under the cover of a widely publicized mid-summer NATO exercise known as BALTOPS 22, planted the remotely triggered explosives that, three months later, destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines, according to a source with direct knowledge of the operational planning,” Hersh remarked.
Translation: A whistleblower may well have come forward with highly credible information, much in the same way former NSA contractor Edward Snowden approached journalist Glenn Greenwald with regards to the Bush and Obama administration’s surveillance antics.
The same antics now being used, to a degree, against conservatives or anyone else who deviates from elite-created groupthink.
“President Joseph Biden saw the pipelines as a vehicle for Vladimir Putin to weaponize natural gas for his political and territorial ambitions … Biden’s decision to sabotage the pipelines came after more than nine months of highly secret back and forth debate inside Washington’s national security community about how to best achieve that goal. For much of that time, the issue was not whether to do the mission, but how to get it done with no overt clue as to who was responsible,” Hersh continued.
Well, unfortunately for the Biden administration, which isn’t exactly known for its ability to avoid giving off “overt” clues (Hunter Biden’s laptop, anyone?), it comes as no surprise that other global elites just couldn’t keep their mouths shut or Twitter accounts silent following the explosion.
On the contrary, political elites thanked the United States in the wake of the explosion.
For instance, European Parliament representative for Poland Radek Sikorski garnered extensive headlines with a rather crisp, “Thank you, U.S.A.”
Sikorski proceeded to ramble and mock Russia, using Putin’s words against him.
“Someone did a special military operation … All Ukrainian and Baltic Sea states have opposed Nord Stream’s construction for 20 years. Now $20 billion of scrap metal lies at the bottom of the sea, another cost to Russia of its criminal decision to invade Ukraine,” the he remarked gleefully.
That tweet was promptly deleted after the full ramifications were revealed, though it lives on in infamy, courtesy of screenshots.
Then again, Biden himself made his intentions rather clear in a statement from February 23, 2022, which occurred a grand total of one day before Putin’s invasion.
“As I said when I met with Chancellor Scholz earlier this month, Germany has been a leader in that effort, and we have closely coordinated our efforts to stop the Nord Stream 2 pipeline if Russia further invaded Ukraine,” Biden intoned.
On its part, CIA spokesperson Tammy Thorp slammed Hersh’s report as “completely and utterly false.”
That would be the same CIA that claimed Hunter Biden’s laptop(s) were “Russian disinformation.”
