Mayor Stages Ultimate Migrant Publicity Stunt

The migrant saga in New York City has taken yet another dramatic turn, this time with the mayor himself sleeping overnight in the Brooklyn terminal, the shelter that migrants apparently refuse to relocate to.

To be fair, the migrants have been housed in $700 per night tourist lodging (any tourists left in New York, with all the violence?), so little wonder they were less than inclined to relocate to a vastly less attractive cruise ship terminal.

As Mayor Eric Adams, the proud mayor of a sanctuary city, has found himself in a bit of a pickle, as migrants, taking cues from “Occupy Wall Street” and other Soros-funded movements, have elected to set up a rather embarrassing tent city across Manhattan, in “protest” of the relocation to the terminal.

One does wonder exactly where illegal migrants became so entitled, but something suggests a concentrated social media campaign.

In the meantime, Adams, desperate for the migrants to clear the tent city and likely too embarrassed to call the police, decided to stage the ultimate publicity stunt: sleeping overnight in the Brooklyn terminal himself.

With a camera crew in tow, of course.

“What we saw is what we have seen since the beginning of this crisis, individuals who are grateful to the greatest city in the world for providing them the opportunity to work toward the American Dream. I’d like to be clear that the facilities at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal are providing the same services to asylum seekers as every other humanitarian relief center in the city, and the team at the terminal is giving new meaning to the words ‘love thy neighbor,’” Adams declared, maximizing the melodrama as he stayed overnight by the migrants.

Playing cards, sharing meals, and, of course, grinning at all times, Mayor Adams attempted to make it seem like bribing migrants to sleep relocate to the terminal is one of the most natural actions to take in the world.

Adams also amplified his apparent bravery on social media, claiming he braved “the coldest night of the year” at the cruise terminal, suggesting illegal migrants can do the same.

“Spent the coldest night of the year at Brooklyn Cruise Terminal with ‘Homeless Hero’ and advocate Shams DaBaron & @AMEddieGibbs. Our brothers are being kept warm and the team working here is giving new meaning to the words ‘love thy neighbor,’” Adams brayed, answering migrant demands regarding insufficient temperature.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the average representative kowtowed to taxpaying Americans as much as this mayor kowtows to illegal migrants?

After all, this is a mayor who takes great pride in openly giving them everything for free.

“More than 42,000 asylum seekers have arrived in New York City since last spring, and we continue to surpass our moral obligations as we provide asylum seekers with shelter, food, health care, education, and a host of other services,” Adams bragged.

Oh, that’s nice.

Way to brag about giving away who knows how many millions in taxpayer funds to provide healthcare, education, and food for illegal migrants!

No wonder it’s easier for an illegal migrant to live for free in New York than an average American, who will not enjoy months long hotel stays for free.

Speaking of “for free,” nothing is really for free as far as the migrants are concerned, as it is hardworking Americans who ultimately bear the brunt the most.

Dr. Robert Transchel, the president and CEO of Yuma, Arizona’s Yuma Regional Medical Center, noted that migrants are shamelessly overwhelming healthcare facilities in Arizona, and he is likely not thrilled with Adams bragging about how much “free” stuff illegal migrants get.”

“It’s been a long journey,” Transchel remarked wearily, “we’ve been at this for well over a year now. We tracked our uncompensated care for a period of over six months, and we calculated that we’ve provided over $20 million in uncompensated care to the migrants crossing the border.”

And that “uncompensated care” will translate directly into higher taxes for Americans, who, as usual, bear the brunt of egregious fiscal irresponsibility.
