Charlie Crist Chooses Bizarre Campaign Strategy

As frightening as the media spectacle across the United States has become, it can be counted on for one thing: entertainment during election season.

And perhaps one of the most entertaining politicians so far to watch is none other than Charlie Crist, who is valiantly attempting to unseat Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Emphasis on valiantly.

Charles C.W. Cooke wrote a rather humorous article in the National Review regarding Crist’s disastrous campaign strategy, including his ultra-left running mate.

Apparently, it didn’t occur to Crist that numerous people moving to Florida aren’t looking for a far left locale.

“Charlie Crist, the Democratic candidate for governor in Florida, intends to pick Karla Hernandez-Mats as his running mate … Is he out of his mind?” Cooke exclaimed.

Clearly, he is.

After all, he began his campaign by telling millions of DeSantis supporters, also Florida voters, that they have “hate” in their hearts.

Great campaign strategy, though not nearly as “great” as his choice of running mate, who apparently thinks Fidel Castro is a hero to Cubans (yes, she actually wrote something to this effect on social media).

Which Cooke eviscerates.

“Earlier this week, Crist kicked off his campaign by saying that he didn’t want DeSantis voters to vote for him because they have ‘hate’ in their hearts. This represented a novel strategy, given that DeSantis won the election in 2018. But picking Hernandez-Mats? That makes Crist’s opening gambit look like a masterstroke.”

That’s pretty hilarious. From the immensely sarcastic “novel strategy” to “masterstroke,” it’s pretty clear Crist’s campaign serves as major entertainment for some.

Especially when he proceeds to conflate facts with feelings.

In his remarks regarding Biden blasting the MAGA movement as fascist, Crist actually used “state the facts” and “express what he feels” as if they were interchangeable phrases.

“I think what’s important is to state the facts as they are. He’s gotta be honest and express what he feels in his heart and his soul, and I think that’s probably exactly what he did,” Crist simpered.

Oh right, because “the facts as they are” apparently are based entirely on how
Biden “feels in his heart and his soul.”

Does Crist even think before he speaks? Does he realize how astonishingly clueless that comes across?

Moreover, he comes across as equally clueless when dealing with softball CNN, especially when attempting to clarify his many flipped messages and platforms.

Such as his belief regarding abortion, apparently.

CNN Newsroom Pamela Brown inquired why Crist has become pro-choice despite being avowedly pro-life in the past.

“In the past, you have said you were pro-life. Have your views on this changed over time? Has your perspective evolved into how you look at it now?” Brown inquired.

“No, they’ve only gotten stronger …” Crist began.

They’ve only gotten stronger? Really? You mean the flip flopping has only gotten stronger?

As that’s believable.

Brown tried to rectify the obvious disconnect, noting that Crist has indeed switched positions.

“In the past, you said you were pro-life. Now you’re saying you are pro-choice. You said your view has only gotten stronger. Help us square that if you would – saying in the past you were pro-life, now saying your views have gotten stronger to be pro-choice,” Brown attempted to clarify.

“Deeds are the most important part of this discussion,” Crist boomed, “as a young state senator, I voted against an anti-abortion bill and in health care committee, killed the bill on a 3-3 tie and it never went to the Senate floor. As a Republican governor I vetoed an anti-abortion bill.”

Sigh.

One thing is for sure: DeSantis better sweep Florida to save it from this clownish governance.
