Carson Calls Out COVID’s Real Purpose

In recent remarks to Newsmax, Dr. Ben Carson, a former Trump administration official, argued that the COVID pandemic has morphed into one of the most impressive mechanisms ever for “controlling the people.”

Over the course of his remarks, the famed neurosurgeon, who frequently drew the ire of Democrats for his unapologetic conservativism, proceeded to detail all the ways in which the COVID pandemic encouraged extreme governmental overreach.

Per Carson, this type of overreach runs completely contrary to the founding principles of the nation.

“Interestingly enough, when you think about the beginnings of our country, people came here so that they could be free,” Carson mused.

As noted by the former presidential candidate, Carson noted that the allure of the United States was its political liberty, a situation where individuals “wouldn’t have the government’s foot on their neck, mandating what they could and could not do.”

However, in the new age of public emergencies and resulting governmental authority, Carson notes that the pandemic has ended up creating “the best mechanism government has had for controlling the people ever.”

Humorously, Carson added that the government is “very reluctant to let [that power] go,” which is rather evident from the constant media fixation on the latest variant or latest development that could give the government any justification for instituting lockdowns once again.

For instance, Politico has noted that the Biden administration is already angling towards extending the COVID public health emergency once again, potentially even as far ahead as the November midterm elections or well into the next year.

“So they’re going to continue trying to extend it just as far as people will tolerate,” Carson noted resignedly.

Even worse, the White House has also abandoned its apparent allegiance to the science.

“Quite frankly, and they’re not looking at science at all,” Carson noted.
