DeSantis Demolishes Invitation From “The View”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently gave Republicans something to roar with laughter about, specifically when he turned down an invitation for “The View.”

“The View,” as many know, is filled with rather incendiary personalities, echoing many of the same nonsensical statements often spouted by AOC.

Hilariously, DeSantis was invited to an appearance on “The View,” for reasons unknown, as it is rather clear that all the hosts on the show detest him.

However, just like Trump, it appears DeSantis drives ratings, which is probably why he was invited in the first place.

Needless to say, the DeSantis team said thanks, but no thanks.

“Are the hosts of The View really interested in hearing from Governor DeSantis about all of the important work he is doing on behalf of Floridians to protect their health and livelihoods, to stand up for parents and children, and to defend freedom?” DeSantis’s team responded.

Something suggests that the hosts of “The View” are interested in none of the above, especially given the brilliant followup line that DeSantis’s team’s email featured.

“Which of the below statements from the hosts of The View do you recommend our team consider when deciding if the interview will be a genuine pursuit of the truth? Or worth the time?” DeSantis’s team continued in amusement, before proceeding to delineate a number of different areas in which “The View” demonstrated open derision towards DeSantis.

For instance, in August 2021, Joy Behar brayed, “you’re just short of calling [Governor DeSantis] a negligent, homicidal sociopath, because that’s what he is.”

Well, that’s nice. What on earth would make DeSantis sprint to have a chance to sit down with her, especially after making derisive remarks like that?

In April of 2022, Ana Navarro went on to liken Florida to Venezuela, which was rather hilarious, all over DeSantis attempting to protect children from LGBTQ indoctrination in public schools.

“It’s anti-black, it’s anti-gay, it’s anti-LGBTQ+ community. And for some reason, the Republican base responds to it,” Navarro sneered, “and “It’s anti-American. It’s what happens in Venezuela. It’s what happens in Nicaragua.”

Then, just in June 2022, Sunny Hostin proclaimed, “Death-Santis … I think he’s a fascist and a bigot.”

So, Governor DeSantis is supposed to go and sit down with a bunch of hosts who openly smeared and demeaned him.

Sounds like a hard pass.

“We will pass on this offer,” the email declared, before adding in one of the best zingers of all.

“Also please note- we don’t coordinate appearances or events of a political nature from the official office,” the email drawled, “our role is to serve the people of Florida.”

Too funny …

Especially since the idea of politicians actually representing their constituents will probably leave the hosts of “The View” scratching their heads for days.

After all, representing the people is not exactly known for being a hallmark of the left these days …
