Red State Strikes Back At NSBA’s Attack On Parents

The National School Boards Association (NSBA) has soared to attention over the past several days, in large part due to its eagerness to sic the Department of Justice (DoJ) on parents who dare to question the perverse curriculum prevailing across multiple public schools today.

From the highly divisive curriculum of critical race theory (CRT) to the relentless push for transgender “bathroom rights,” schools have transformed from marginally acceptable education institutions to full-on leftist indoctrination centers.

Too bad that quite a few American parents are not exactly in favor of an anti-American, pro-BLM, ultra-leftist doctrine masquerading as public “education.”

And, courtesy of the First Amendment, American parents were free to express their views at school board meetings … until, of course, school board members decided that parents’ impassioned inquiries apparently constitute “intimidation” and “threats” against school board officials.

The NSBA also decided to label these parents as “domestic terrorists,” having the nerve to request federal law enforcement assistance for school boards that are probably ultra-BLM (and ultra in favor of “defund police”) in the first place.

Just consider the utter absurdity of the NSBA’s letter below.

“As these acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials have increased … the classification of these heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes …

[The] NSBA requests a joint expedited review by the U.S. Departments of Justice, Education, and Homeland Security, along with the appropriate training, coordination, investigations, and enforcement mechanisms from the FBI, including any technical assistance necessary from, and state and local coordination with, its National Security Branch and Counterterrorism Division, as well as any other federal agency with relevant jurisdictional authority and oversight.” [Source: The Washington Examiner]

“Heinous acts,” huh?

What’s far more heinous is a high school deliberately covering up the fact that freshman girls have been sexually assaulted by a male wearing a dress, courtesy of transgender “bathroom rights.”

And that one of the “domestic terrorists” at a school board meeting was, in fact, the father of one of the assaulted girls.

And as far as “Counterterrorism Division” is concerned? It would be almost hilarious if it weren’t nearly so dangerous … and with the Biden administration, that division very well may be weaponized against parents.

Especially conservative ones, and definitely MAGA ones.

Fortunately, some other states have stepped in on the madness of the debate surrounding public education and public schools.

For instance, the Florida School Boards Association (FSBA) has recently the National School Boards Association (NSBA) a rather pointed message with regards to weaponizing the DoJ against concerned parents:

No thanks.

Andrea Messina, the Executive Director of FSBA, sent a letter to Viola Garcia, the NSBA President, making it rather obvious that the NSBA does not speak for all states.

“Several elements of your letter run counter to the tenets embraced by the FSBA, and this communication has caused serious concerns, conflict, and consternation for many of our members within the FSBA.” [Source: Breitbart]

“Serious concerns” is one of the nicest ways to put it.

After all, the 20-year anniversary of 9/11/01 just happened, yet the nation has descended to a state wherein its own parents are labeled terrorists?

Needless to say, in a state led by Trump ally Governor DeSantis, parents’ input is not only permitted, but welcomed, which Messina made abundantly clear.

“We also both encourage and welcome parents, as well as other concerned citizens into our school board meetings to engage in lively, respectful, and civil civic discourse. We respect Florida’s open meeting laws, invite disparate beliefs to be shared, and believe hearing from passionate stakeholders is a sign of a healthy community engagement …

We will continue to provide a safe environment for all stakeholders to exchange views; thereby, ensuring parents’ voices are heard when it comes to decisions about their children’s education and safety.” [Source: Breitbart]

Amen.

Florida will also continue to provide a safer environment for its students and residents in general, especially given the state’s pro-law enforcement, pro-science approach to COVID.

The key is to make that the increased number of liberals flooding the state from New York do not turn the state into New York 2.0 …
