Stephen King’s Shocking Take on School Shooting

Stephen King’s Shocking Take on School Shooting

Stephen King, the famous author known for writing scary stories, recently spoke out after a tragic shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis. In this shooting, two children were killed and 17 others were injured. The shooter, who identified as transgender, left behind a video saying, “F*ck those kids.” Despite all this, King said the real problem isn’t transgenderism. He said the problem is guns.

Let’s be clear: the shooter was not just some unknown person. This was someone who had legally changed his name from Robert to Robin and identified as female. A senior official confirmed this information. The shooter planned the attack and made a hateful video message. That’s not just about guns. That’s about a disturbed mind and a dangerous ideology.

This is not the first time something like this has happened. In 2023, another transgender shooter went into Covenant Christian School in Nashville and killed six people. Police reports showed that this shooter had been planning the attack for years. She chose that school because it was a private Christian school and more isolated. She also avoided attacking a mostly black school because she didn’t want to be seen as racist. That tells us this wasn’t just random violence. It was targeted, hateful, and planned.

In another case in June 2024, a transgender person named Mia Bailey, who was born as Collin Troy Bailey, was arrested for allegedly killing his own parents. His name and gender had been legally changed in 2023. Once again, we see a pattern of violent behavior connected to deep identity confusion and mental health struggles.

So when Stephen King says, “trans is not the problem,” he’s ignoring the facts. Of course, not every transgender person is violent. But when there are multiple cases of transgender individuals committing brutal, hateful crimes, we must be willing to ask hard questions.

King wants to blame guns. But guns don’t make plans. Guns don’t choose targets. People do. And when people are hurting, angry, or confused, they can turn dangerous. That’s why we must look at the whole picture—not just the weapon, but the motive, the mindset, and the ideology.

The Founders of our country gave us the Second Amendment because they believed in self-defense and liberty. They knew that a free people must be able to protect themselves. Taking away guns from law-abiding citizens won’t stop evil people from doing evil things. It just makes it harder for good people to defend themselves.

What we should be talking about is how to help people who are struggling with mental health. We should not be pushing young people into life-altering decisions like changing their gender. We should be protecting children, not encouraging confusion. And we should certainly not be ignoring dangerous patterns just because they make some people uncomfortable.

Stephen King is a writer, not a lawmaker or a police officer. His opinion may be popular in Hollywood, but it goes against the facts. Ignoring the role that transgender identity played in these attacks is not helpful. It’s dangerous.

We must return to common sense. We must protect our schools, our churches, and our families. That means holding people accountable for their actions and refusing to be silent when we see a pattern of violence. It also means defending our rights—including the right to bear arms—so that we can protect ourselves when the government fails to do so.

In the end, truth matters more than feelings. And the truth is, guns are not the root of this evil. Broken minds and broken culture are. Let’s not be afraid to say so.
