Talk about an epic policy reversal.
Over the course of his entire “campaign” rallies for 2020, which was attended by upwards of 50 cars, President Biden repeatedly declared that he would not have anything whatsoever to do with former President Donald Trump’s border wall.
As detailed in National Review, Biden exhibited his full arrogance when he blasted Trump’s wall as “not as serious policy solution.”
“Building a massive wall that spans the entire southern border is not a serious policy solution,” Biden said in January 2021
Funny. Doubt Biden would say the same about the Great Wall of China, especially as he makes far too much money from Beijing in highly suspect business endeavors.
Like the perverse “business” of destroying the United States.
Alas, Biden’s open borders policy appears to be even less of a “serious solution,” given the rather humorous about-face that Biden’s own administration just did.
Shockingly, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas fired off a missive in which he declared an “immediate need” for a border wall … or an immediate need for Trump’s supposedly “not serious” solution.
“There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas pursuant to sections 102(a) and 102(b) of [the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996],” Mayorkas declared urgently in the letter.
Funny commentary, coming from the same DHS secretary that spent multiple months claiming the border had no crisis whatsoever in the early days of Biden’s presidency.
Apparently, the arrival of multiple millions of illegals, many of whom have already been linked to serious, transnational crime, has made even the White House wake up to the crisis.
If only to improve their optics for the 2024 presidential election.
“The United States Border Patrol’s (Border Patrol) Rio Grande Valley Sector is an area of “high illegal entry.” As of early August 2023, Border Patrol had encountered over 245,000 such entrants attempting to enter the United States between ports of entry in the Rio Grande Valley Sector in Fiscal Year 2023. Therefore, I must use my authority under section 102 of IIRIRA to install additional physical barriers and roads in the Rio Grande Valley Sector,” Mayorkas continued.
Now that’s even funnier. Way to admit that Biden has been breaking the law ever since he came into office, as he banned any further funding from going to the wall … despite Congress previously approving it.
Suddenly, Mayorkas “must” follow the same law he’s willingly broken for 2.5 years?
Please, spare us all!
“Therefore, DHS will take immediate action to construct barriers and roads,” Mayorkas continued to prattle in a panic, “construction will be funded by a fiscal year 2019 appropriation through which Congress appropriated funds for the construction border barrier in the Rio Grande Valley, and DHS is required to use those funds for their appropriated purpose’s.”
First off, Mr. Mayorkas, check the punctuation of the last word … a tad off, and all the more reason to defund the Marxist Department of Education, considering federal officials apparently can’t write properly.
But one thing he and his dubious colleagues in the Biden regime can do with abandon is totally disregard the law in multiple contexts, all while spearheading a massive witch hunt against Trump over anything and everything.
Next thing you know, the media will be all over some parking ticket Trump received in 1972.
Mayorkas says he is using his authority provided by Congress to waive 26 federal laws, conveniently so he can resume Trump’s wall.
Even more hilariously, all these laws relate to the environment, as they include the Clean Air Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, and Endangered Species Act, amongst others.
How convenient that the Dems could care less about the environment when they have a 2024 election to “prepare” for.
Which makes Biden’s past arrogance all the more amusing.
Biden previously blasted Trump’s wall as “just one example of the prior Administration’s misplaced priorities and failure to manage migration in a safe, orderly, and humane way.”
What Biden left out was that the arrival of millions of suspect illegals would decimate a “safe, orderly, and humane” way of life for American citizens.
