Putin Revs Up Pressure On Pusillanimous Politicians

Leftist Polish MP Radosław Sikorski is likely rethinking his ill-informed, and infamous, “Thank you, USA” tweet following the Nord Stream 2 pipeline explosion last September.

Especially when the MP included an image of the methane explosion afterwards, making it rather clear that he was grateful for the United States’ apparent attack on critical infrastructure.

Not very bright, as that tweet was immediately seized upon by spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova.

“Ex Polish FM, now European MP Radoslaw Sikorski has thanked the US for today’s incident at the Russian gas pipeline (Nord Stream 2). Is it an official statement on this being a terrorist attack?” Zakharova inquired.

Sikorski promptly deleted his tweet, obviously realizing the ramifications, though Russia sure hasn’t forgotten that its critical infrastructure was destroyed.

While the Biden administration has claimed that Russia apparently blew up its own pipelines (at least initially), Russia has long held that they were sabotaged by the West, likely in violation of the same international laws that Putin is routinely accused of violating.

Which is precisely why the nation is now demanding an objective inquiry into the destruction, following the reticence of the Swedes and others to share the dubious findings of their investigations.

Russian ambassador Vassily Nebenzia made it rather clear that UN politicians, who spend more time posturing and dividing over pronouns than looking after real human rights, should focus its energy on finding the perpetrators of the attack, whoever they may be.

“We are not here to set up a trial in the Security Council,” Nebenzia proclaimed, adding that there was “proof explosives had been planted” near the pipeline, referencing a report from Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh.

Moscow is hardly the only one demanding an inquiry, as China, eager to deflect attention from Balloongate, has also chimed in, declaring the urgency of an investigation.

“China urges an objective, impartial and professional investigation into the explosion of the Nord Stream pipeline, which has been called the energy lifeline of Europe … [T]he explosion had a significant negative impact on the global energy market and the global ecological environment, and had even sent Europe into a winter energy crisis. Given the harm of damaging major transnational infrastructure and the serious consequences, the international community has the right to demand a thorough investigation,” the CCP-owned Global Times reported.

On the White House front, USA Ambassador John Kelley openly denies any American involvement, despite Biden bragging on video about bringing Nord Stream 2 to “an end” before the Ukraine invasion.

Kelley skewered the “completely false” assertion by Russia, claiming that it is “a blatant attempt to distract” the general public from the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion, adding that everyone’s “focus” should be on the Ukraine war.

“[Russia is] abusing its position as a council member,” Kelley added.

Fair point.

An even fairer point is that both the United States and Russia have done so, though the violations occurred under the regime of Obama and his lapdog Biden.

UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo was not as decisive as Kelley was, clearly leery of the United States following its sponsorship of globalist wars.

“[The UN is] not in a position to verify or confirm any of the claims relating to these incidents, and we await the findings of ongoing national investigations,” DiCarlo remarked cautiously.

DiCarlo did, however, verify that the “preliminary” reports from the investigating nations reveal “extensive damage,” “gross sabotage,” and “foreign items.”

Regardless of where the fault ultimately lies, the eco-warriors have been curiously silent about the mass environmental degradation that arose as a result of the explosion.

“UNEP analyses estimated the plausible range of total methane emissions leaked during the incident as a record 75 to 230 kilotons,” the UN reported.

Al Jazeera identified the explosion as “the biggest burst of the potent greenhouse gas on record.”

Looks like the White House regime is only in favor of the alleged Green New Deal when it comes to strangling small businesses and limiting people’s movements.

Such environmental concerns appear to fly out the window when it comes to a dirty war largely engineered by globalist elites.

A compelling report published in 2014 by geopolitical strategist John J. Mearsheimer reveals precisely the role that the West, notably the Obama-Biden administration, played in continuously engineering the crisis in Ukraine following the annexation of Crimea, in particular Biden.

“Western leaders have also clung to the provocative politics that precipitated the crisis in the first place … In April, U.S. Vice President met with Ukrainian legislators and told them ‘This is a second opportunity to make good on the original promise made by the Orange Revolution,’” Mearsheimer writes.

“The United States and its allies should abandon their plan to westernize Ukraine and instead aim to make it a neutral buffer,” the scholar mused.

Alas, while that solution would clearly be the best for everyone, it would eliminate opportunities for “the Big Guy” to rake in mega-dough via his son’s highly dubious, national-security endangering antics.

At least Hunter used human-trafficked girls from Ukraine and Russia in his nefarious exploits.

Now that’s real “equity.”

One can only hope the outcome of the ongoing Nord Stream investigation is equally
“equitable” in terms of assigning real culpability where it belongs.
