White House Zings Nation With Zealous Zients

“Other states endanger their citizens by making it easier to put criminals back on the street. Here in Florida, we will to continue to support and enact policies to protect our communities and keep Floridians safe. Florida will remain the law and order state.”

The above words comprise the recent declarations of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has recently doubled down on his state’s anticrime approach.

Specifically, as noted in a press release, DeSantis is taking the polar opposite approach of New York and California.

“Governor Ron DeSantis announced his legislative proposal to maintain and further improve Florida’s 50-year record low crime rate. This proposal pushes back against the abolishment of cash bail, increases penalties for drug-related crimes, steps up human smuggling interdictions, strengthens the punishment for child rapists, prevents the early release of sex criminals, and makes it more feasible to administer ultimate justice to those facing the death penalty,” the release declared.

Little wonder that Miami, Florida remains one of the only major urban centers in the nation that is not completely subsumed by crime.

Not surprising, really, considering that Miami is firmly ensconced in DeSantis territory, not to mention laden with freedom-loving Cuban-Americans who generally vote far more conservatively than other marauding groups that routinely storm the border.

Unsurprisingly, Miami Republican Mayor Francis Suarez also takes a far more favorable view towards the police than Democrat mayors in other cities, who are usually too busy preening for the camera or ranting about “white supremacy” to actually do any real work.

Meanwhile, Democrat cities descend into total chaos, courtesy of the lawlessness their own deranged policies have engendered.

“What I’m focusing on is that the no cash bail is creating lawlessness in a lot of our cities. What’s happening is, for example, people get out right away, they’re not even, you know, they don’t even have to post bail. So they’re able to get out right away,” Suarez declared.

Yep. And repeat their offenses over and over and over again to the extent that law enforcement may as well not bother to arrest them at all.

Which may be one of the Dems’ demented plans, for all aghast conservatives know.

Suarez also indicated that such absurd bail-free policies not only engender greater crime, but they also lead to the cessation of numerous business operations.

“And so we’re seeing someone go into … a CVS, for example, and take thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise, which is causing a CVSs to close, which hurts the, you know, the rest of the city, but that’s not particularly related to, to the gun violence issue. It’s related more to petty crime, which is creating lawlessness in some of our cities,” Suarez remarked.

Yep. San Francisco is especially notorious for the widespread closures of varied CVS and Walgreens locations, which in turn has limited vulnerable populations’ access to pharmacies, in particular the elderly.

Crime, in other words, is dramatically increasing the “inequity” Democrats claim to be so against.

Coincidentally, in case you were wondering what in the world was going on in the mayoral office in San Francisco, apparently a bunch of bureaucrats think it would be a great idea to pay every single “descendant of slaves” $5M+ (yes, that’s five million), alongside other lifelong “benefits.”

These would be the same people that support endlessly increasing the debt ceiling.

Needless to say, a Republican mayor is wisely investing money in a far more worthwhile endeavor, certainly an endeavor with more statistically supported benefit to law-abiding society as a whole, anyway: funding the police. Imagine that.

“We are funding our police. A lot of cities cut into the defunding police movement. And we’re seeing [law enforcement funding] as a bipartisan issue,” Suarez remarked.

Let’s hear it for common sense public policy!

If only Suarez retained a position in Biden’s inane Cabinet.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, now that she has removed herself from power following the midterms, has even chimed in about the Democrats’ idiocy regarding crime, if only because she senses it’s now politically expedient to do so.

In fact, she went as far as to blame New York Governor Kathy Hochul for the Democrats losing the house, claiming that Hochul did not take crime seriously enough.

“The governor didn’t realize soon enough where the trouble was,” Pelosi sniffed.

Well, to be fair, clearly Eric Adams, the so-called Mayor of New York City doesn’t realize where “the trouble” is either, especially when accounting for a rather distressing report regarding yet another terrible Democrat-minded policy: letting migrants stay for free in extremely expensive hotels.

Per direct witnesses, migrants are allegedly “trashing rooms, drinking all day, smoking marijuana, consuming drugs, and having sex in the stairwell” during their so-called “temporary,” taxpayer-funded stay at a high-end, $500 per night tourist hotel in Central Manhattan, as reported by the Daily Mail.

On top of this ghastly behavior, they are apparently also engaged in routine domestic violence incidents, all while leaving “good food” out to rot because it doesn’t meet their apparent expectations.

Starving refugees, indeed.

“The form in which they keep their rooms is horrendous. They don’t clean it, they don’t fold their clothes. They’re hoarding clothes, they’re hoarding whatever they can hoard,” Felipe Rodriguez, a beleaguered hotel employee, reported.

One can only hope that Mr. Rodriguez is one day vindicated for the nonsense elitist Democrats and their policies have put too many hardworking people through.

And one can also see precisely why DeSantis decided to send quite a few migrants up north …
