Sanctuary cities just never learn.
And, frighteningly, it appears that even police in sanctuary cities just never learn … at least if they occupy the upper echelons of law enforcement administration.
Largely removed from the dangers of police work, those types of administrators can afford to be woke if it’s good for maintaining their overpaid positions.
Indeed, Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling made a rather startling series of remarks regarding illegal migrants, starting with the astonishing claim that other people need to “step up” and help with illegals.
“We were the first to open our doors to the migrants and they’re still coming. And we have not turned them away,” Snelling began pompously, “but what we need are other people to step up in these situations because the burden has been on the police department to house people.”
Uh, earth to Snelling? Ever occur to the superintendent that the police department does not “have” to house illegal migrants, if it had any kind of backbone whatsoever?
Think any police stations in China would “house” Americans who entered the nation illegally?
Not exactly, as people crossing China’s border illegally are likely dealt with in a rather different manner than the United States.
Apparently, Snelling is pushing unknown people to “step up” because the sight of migrants strewn all around police stations apparently may have a “negative effect” on police.
“Those officers now have to go out and serve the public … This could have a negative effect on our officers,” Snelling fretted.
Gee, you don’t say! Most police officers probably would be frustrated by literally tiptoeing around illegals who feel zero qualms about straining the city’s incredibly limited resources.
Even more limited after following the departure of multiple high net worth individuals, who are fed up with the city’s ultra-woke, pro-criminal policies.
“I do worry about the wellness of officers who see these conditions every single day because they’re concerned human beings,” Snelling continued, adding that illegals “should be treated with the same respect that we expect our own family members to be treated with and our officers are doing that.”
Say what?
Individuals who willingly broke the law to cross the border, then headed straight to sanctuary cities to exploit American taxpayers, should be treated the same as police officer’s “own family members?”
Would Snelling still be spouting that insanity if one of the migrants initiates a mass terrorist attack on American soil?
Or would he have some new excuse that attempts to justify the unjustifiable?
How many police stations have to be literally overwhelmed by migrants before Dems finally get it?
Or, perhaps the reality is that they do get it … And that’s exactly why their open borders destruction continues.
