Professor Calls Out “Racist” Nonsense From Ultra-Woke Student

While most university professors these days seem perennially checked out from reality, it appears that a few from the informal Old Guard still have some sense.

Including very liberal professors, or at least professors considered liberal for their time.

Nowadays, the liberal professors of the twentieth century are apparently the arch-nemesis of liberals in the twenty-first.

And unlike the twenty-first century slackers, the twentieth century professionals aren’t going to kowtow to sniveling snowflakes.

During the recent Berkshire Conference of Women Historians, a woke PhD student in attendance, Stephanie Narrow, apparently was enraged by the sight of Lois Banner, a retired white USC professor who was there to deliver a speech.

For some strange reason, Ms. Narrow decided to (rather unprofessionally) issue a tweet more befitting of an outraged college freshman than a PhD candidate.

“Well, the Berks plenary just took a turn. A white senior scholar at the 50th anniversary plenary VERY publicly, and unapologetically, said that she wished she was Black so her professional life would be easier,” Narrow declared on Twitter.

In addition, Narrow claims that Banner was “called out” by others in attendance.

“[Banner] was immediately called out for her blatantly racist remarks, and refused to apologize, let alone listen, to the reason why her remarks were horrifying [sic] wrong,” Narrow added indignantly on Twitter.

Narrow also added that Banner apparently stood her ground, stating that her mind would not be changed, as she is “84 years old.”

Remember, in the woke world, it’s totally fine to be prejudiced against age groups (especially successful Baby Boomers) as well as conservative political beliefs.

And, apparently, prejudiced against “cis,” or straight people as well.

Little wonder that universities have led the way in this outrageously ineffectively, dangerously divisive way of thinking.

After all, universities are some of the most ineffectual institutions in the nation, hardly held to the same performance standards as publicly traded companies, and they can coast on effectively taxpayer-funded loans indefinitely.

Which means universities can hire “diversity” candidates left and right and keep them indefinitely, no matter how ineffective (and generally uninterested in teaching) they might be.

Seems most of them like to hear themselves talk.

University administrators are generally as ineffective and increasingly divisive as professors, as they can “afford” to be as well, also courtesy of taxpayers they love to publicly denigrate.

“The board and trustees listened, took careful notes, and are planning action … The conversation is not over, and the board will have a statement and a concrete action plan soon,” university administrators boomed.

So, in other words, the university immediately jumped on the “believe the woke” bandwagon, without hearing Ms. Banner’s side.

Ms. Banner, predictably, has an entirely different take on the situation, as indicated in her response to inquiries from The Blaze.

“That’s not what I said …I said that senior male scholars had called me a dumb blonde, which was a term of derision in the 1960s and 1970s. I also said that I had admired lesbians for their active role in the women’s movement,” Banner remarked.

Strangely, after Ms. Banner spoke with the publication, Ms. Narrow appears to have deleted the tweet that effectively accuses Banner of being racist.

“Hmm…this page doesn’t exist. Try searching for something else,” Twitter declares.

When entering the entirety of Narrow’s tweet into Google itself, the Big Tech giant does not return a specific hyperlink to the tweet itself, further underscoring the likelihood of Ms. Narrow deleting it.

Even more hilariously, Google unintentionally, though effectively, highlighted the uselessness of statements emanating from university administration.

“It looks like the results below are changing quickly … If this topic is new, it can sometimes take time for reliable sources to publish information,” Google asserts.

Well, isn’t that hilarious.

As the university already published information that disparaged the professor in question … but apparently the university isn’t “reliable.”

No kidding, considering they all jump on the latest woke bandwagon without doing an iota of original research.

So, the university may have said “this conversation is not over” then, but with Ms. Narrow’s sudden deletion of the tweet, it looks like the conversation regarding another woke temper tantrum is over now.
