GOP Smacks Secret Service With Serious Subpoena

Now the White House really has something to whine about.

A recent, exclusive report from Fox News Digital has revealed a new twist in the ongoing GOP investigation of “President” Joe Biden and his nefarious business dealings.

Chiefly in the form of House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer’s subpoenas directed to the Secret Service, DHS officials, and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Chairman Alejandro Mayorkas.

“House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer subpoenaed Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and several DHS and Secret Service officials for documents and testimony related to the Secret Service’s alleged tip-off of the Biden transition team regarding a planned Hunter Biden tax probe interview in 2020, while also accusing the agencies of obstructing a congressional investigation,” Fox News detailed.

So, in other words, the White House is blocking the GOP from investigating very real crimes of Hunter and his father during the 2020 election cycle.

The same White House, of course, that ran with the “Russian collusion” lie for years.

Sounds about right.

Comer launched a total of six subpoenas: one subpoena to Mayorkas for documents; two subpoenas to Secret Service officials for depositions; and three subpoenas for DHS officials for depositions.

And boy, does he have a reason for launching a flurry of subpoenas.

“The Department of Justice initiated the Biden family coverup and now DHS under the leadership of Secretary Mayorkas is complicit in it … Investigators were never able to interview Hunter Biden during the criminal investigation because Secret Service headquarters and the Biden transition team were tipped off about the planned interview. This is just one of many examples of the misconduct and politicization during the Department of Justice’s investigation,” Comer declared in remarks to Fox News Digital.

The “Biden transition team.” And what a terrible transition it has been.

The transition has been downright awful ever since Trump was forced out of power by the Big Tech/media zealots, who deliberately censored vital information that undoubtedly swayed more than one voter in 2020.

“The Department of Homeland Security is obstructing our investigation by muzzling the Secret Service from providing a response to Congress … The American people deserve transparency, not obstruction,” Comer continued in his remarks to Fox.

Well, given Biden’s open derision for Americans, it is little surprise he could care less about any form of decency, never mind transparency.

“[House Republicans] will hold the Biden Administration accountable for running interference for the Biden family’s corruption and criminal activity,” Comer added.

Truly, Mr. Comer, that accountability cannot come soon enough.

Mayorkas has until September 19 to submit the requested documentation to Comer.

Time will tell if he bothers to provide transparency to the American public, by law.

Of course, since Mayorkas spent multiple months denying any kind of crisis on the border, despite border states’ reports to the contrary, it’s unlikely he’ll bother to respond to Comer’s request.

What is not as easily predictable, however, is whether or not the GOP will ever succeed in de-politicizing the DOJ, DHS, and too many other increasingly authoritarian federal agencies to count.
