Voters Eviscerate Dems’ Economic Performance

According to the results of a recent Rasmussen Reports poll, the majority of American voters believe that the economy has fallen into a recession, despite the verbal gymnastics emanating from the White House that attempt to deflect from reality.

For months, the White House had insisted that inflation was “transitory” before finally, albeit quietly, dropping that adjective from public commentary.

According to media outlet Breitbart, Senate Minority Leader Mitchell McConnell also eviscerated the economic performance of the Democrats.

“Democrats inherited an economy that was primed for an historic comeback, and promptly ran it straight into the ground,” McConnell remarked wryly.

The majority of the poll’s respondents agreed with McConnell’s assertions, with 59 percent of 1,000 respondents, who were surveyed from July 28 to July 31, agreeing with the senator’s remarks.

Furthermore, 91 percent of respondents indicated that the economy constitutes one of the most important issues for determining which candidates they would vote for in the upcoming midterm elections.

The results of the poll found that majorities across every single racial category, including 62 percent of whites, 53 percent of blacks, and 67 percent of all other minorities, strongly believe that the United States is currently in a recession.

Just days ago, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen insisted that the United States is not in a recession, remarking, “This is not an economy that is in recession.”

Despite the American economy fitting a technical definition of a recession now, Yellen claims that the definition simply doesn’t align with today’s times, though she did not provide a substantive explanation supporting this claim.
