Justice Denied: Shocking Crime Exposes Media Bias

Justice Denied: Shocking Crime Exposes Media Bias

The tragic murder of 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska on a Charlotte, North Carolina, subway last month is a chilling reminder of what happens when law and order break down. Iryna, a Ukrainian refugee seeking safety in America, was brutally stabbed to death by a career criminal named Decarlos Brown Jr.—a man who should have never been on the streets in the first place.

The attack was unprovoked and caught on surveillance video. Brown sat behind Iryna on the light rail, then suddenly lunged forward and stabbed her multiple times. Afterward, he wandered around the train car, seemingly unfazed, while the floor was stained with blood. It was an evil act, plain and simple.

President Trump was asked about the incident and said it was “horrible” and that he would be fully briefed on it. And rightly so. This kind of crime cannot be swept under the rug. Sadly, that’s exactly what the corporate media is trying to do.

Here is the video footage that the mainstream outlets don’t want you to see:

Let’s be clear about what happened. Decarlos Brown Jr. had been arrested since 2007—over a dozen times—on charges like felony larceny, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and making threats. Yet many of these charges were dropped. Instead of being behind bars, he was riding light rail with innocent women like Iryna, who paid the ultimate price.

This was not just a failure of one man. It was a failure of the justice system, local government, and the media. Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles bears responsibility for allowing crime to spiral out of control in her city. Charlotte now ranks among the most dangerous cities in North Carolina. That’s not a coincidence. It’s the result of weak leadership and soft-on-crime policies.

Even worse, the media refuses to report this story honestly. CNN, The New York Times, the Associated Press, and others have given the murder of Iryna Zarutska almost no coverage. Zero headlines. Zero outrage. Why? Because the killer doesn’t fit their narrative. A Black man murdering a White woman doesn’t serve their agenda, so they stay silent.

Compare that to the wall-to-wall media frenzy we’ve seen in other cases. George Floyd’s name was mentioned nearly 6,000 times in the press. Trayvon Martin, over 1,000. Daniel Penny, the Marine who stopped a violent man on a New York subway, was smeared across every major outlet. But Iryna? Nothing. According to journalist Liz Wheeler, The New York Times gave her case zero mentions. That’s not journalism. That’s propaganda.

This double standard is dangerous. It sends a message that some lives matter more than others, depending on the politics of the situation. That’s not justice. That’s not equality. And it’s certainly not what our Founders intended.

The Constitution guarantees equal protection under the law. That means justice must be blind—no favoritism, no politics. Every life is sacred. Every crime must be answered. And every victim deserves to be heard.

We must return to the rule of law. That starts by holding criminals accountable, not releasing them back into society. It means rejecting soft-on-crime prosecutors and mayors who care more about politics than public safety. And it means demanding that our media tell the truth, even when it doesn’t fit their narrative.

President Trump understands this. He has always stood for law and order, for the safety of our communities, and for the protection of the innocent. That’s why he must lead the charge in calling out not just the criminal, but the broken system that allowed this tragedy to happen.

Justice for Iryna Zarutska is not just about one case. It’s about restoring the very principles that built this nation—truth, justice, and equal protection under the law. Let us not be silent. Let us speak up, stand firm, and demand better.
