Well, well, well. That was a rather rapid shutdown, to put it mildly.
And for individuals who would like to think that Melania Trump has no backbone … Well, they might wish to think again, especially given how swiftly her legal counsel just shut down one of the more prominent Democrat strategists.
According to a report from The Hill, James Carville – who is famed for serving as a key strategist for the Clintons and the Obamas – reportedly “pulled down” parts of a previous podcast that related to Jeffrey Epstein’s dealings.
And that pull down happened after major legal pushback from none other than First Lady Melania Trump.
Apparently, Carville had mischaracterized how Melania had met Trump, echoing several conspiracy theories swirling about online.
Specifically, some conspiracy theorists charge that Melania met Trump through Epstein, underscoring the politically convenient nature of many damaging rumors.
However, in cases where the rumor might be quickly disproven, legal counsel will act.
And that’s exactly what Melania’s legal counsel just did, following Carville’s ill-advised, albeit salacious, remarks.
“After the episode, we received a letter from Melania Trump’s lawyer. He took issue with our title of one of those YouTube videos from that episode and a couple of comments I made about the first lady,” Carville admitted.
“A couple of comments” that can cause immense damage. Uh huh.
“We took a look at what they complained about, and we took down the video and edited out those comments from the episode. I also take back these statements and apologize,” Carville continued.
Not exactly the most enthusiastic apology in the world, but it’s good enough, given the context.
Perhaps Carville would be a bit better off focusing upon his rather dire midterm predictions, especially as those would be of more interest to most.
Nick Clemens, who serves as an aide to Melania, provided a more detailed explanation to Fox News Digital.
“First Lady Melania Trump’s attorneys are actively ensuring immediate retractions and apologies by those who spread malicious, defamatory falsehoods. The true account of how the First Lady met President Trump is in her best-selling book, ‘Melania,’” Clemens proclaimed.
Indeed, Melania clearly remembers meeting Trump at the Kit Kat Club in New York in 1998, as detailed in an excerpt from her book posted on X.
“I found myself drawn to his magnetic energy,” Melania recalled.
Little did Melania know that huge swathes of the global population would be similarly “drawn” when her husband ran for president just under twenty years later.
