What is going on in the city of Cincinnati?
Quite recently, a violent brawl unfolded across the streets of Cincinnati … and it was even more disturbing than a typically violent conflict.
Given that the brawl involved a young woman being knocked out cold.
Apparently, a brawl broke out when a young, white couple was beaten by a malicious mob. Even more troublingly, at least 100 people stood around filming or otherwise watching the brawl, before one finally deigned to call the police.
So, in other words, well over 100 people thought that extreme violence against a young couple was acceptable. They may as well be effective accessories to crime.
That is, if their crime is even visible, considering that Cincinnati leadership appears to have gone AWOL or otherwise unsupportive of the victims of violence.
Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval “has been missing in action for days” following the brawl, per a report from Fox News.
Pureval apparently opted to vacation in Vancouver instead during a “long-planned trip.”
“This was a long-planned family trip and celebration for my son. I take my role as mayor very seriously, but I also take my role as a husband and father seriously as well,” Pureval brayed.
Right. Except the mayor’s political responsibilities should probably take precedent during rising crime and civil unrest … One would think, anyway.
Certainly, the young couple beaten to a pulp is not appreciative of the fact that the mayor couldn’t be bothered to stay in town.
Heck, Pureval couldn’t even be bothered to criticize the tragedy, unfortunately.
What makes the entire situation even worse is the fact that the mayor is hardly the only one to be wholly unreliable during a violent, reportedly race-driven brawl.
Cincinnati City Councilwoman Victoria Parks, for instance, enraged multiple individuals by openly celebrating the beatdown of the couple.
“They begged for that beat down! I am grateful for the whole story!” Parks shrieked on Facebook.
Parks succeeded in enraging Ohio’s 39th District State Representative Phil Plummer
“Cincinnati Councilwoman Victoria Parks must resign immediately! Defending violent criminals who viciously beat innocent people is disgusting. Her words “They begged for that beat down!” are outrageous. Prosecutors must charge the attackers with a hate crime. We must protect our streets!” Plummer demanded on X.
Seriously.
Between Parks and Pureval, it is safe to say that residents across Cincinnati are due for a major overhaul of their political representation.
