Lately, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been quieter than usual as of late.
One reason for such silence may well be the fact that she recently nabbed headlines, once again, for making a killing in the stock market.
A killing that just might have moved her net worth well past $400 million, to be clear.
However, within the past couple of days, Pelosi has suddenly appeared inspired to speak once again.
Perhaps she was motivated by Hunter Biden’s recent, and rather surprising, diatribe against the Democrat party – a harsh critique that was undoubtedly aimed at Pelosi, at least in part.
Whatever her motivation for suddenly breaking her silence, Pelosi surged to public attention once again … and, rather hilariously, the San Francisco Democrat attention for expressing unwitting agreement with President Donald Trump.
That’s right: Pelosi, who was previously notorious for her desire to “fumigate” Trump out of the White House, accidentally agreed with Trump in the public forum regarding the ongoing furor surrounding Jeffrey Epstein.
“These Scams and Hoaxes are all the Democrats are good at. They are no good at governing, no good at policy, and no good at picking winning candidates,” Trump groused in response to the rising controversy.
A controversy not helped by the fact that top Trump associates, such as influencer Laura Loomer, are openly calling for a special counsel into the Epstein files.
Trump was likely bemused by Pelosi’s initial response to Epstein, however, given that the former house speaker derided the Epstein controversy as a distraction.
As detailed by the New York Post, Pelosi is less than impressed by the public attention surrounding Epstein.
“This is a distraction. We have major issues right here with things we’re voting on today in the Congress. And instead we’re talking about him – about this thing, and his own base has its own views of what the president should do,” Pelosi griped.
According to Pelosi, the focus on Epstein has resulted in attention diverted from public spending – which, per Pelosi is much more dangerous.
“I think that they’re off the subject of what is happening, changing the character and the culture of America by undermining – by placing huge, trillions of dollars of national debt on future generations to carry forward at the expense of the health, nutrition and education of the American people,” Pelosi continued to fume, echoing many of tech titan Elon Musk’s arguments.
Apparently, Pelosi even perceives the furor over Alligator Alcatraz as a comparable distraction.
“[W]hether it’s Jeffrey Epstein or Alcatraz, it’s all off the subject of what they’re doing with this budget that is harmful to the kitchen table, meeting the kitchen-table needs of the American people,” Pelosi ranted.
Well then! That remark not only helps Trump, but also Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as well.
Pelosi apparently realized that she had unwittingly helped the president shortly after issuing her remarks.
Which is why she issued a sudden public reversal on X.
“For reasons known only to him, Donald Trump is now refusing to appoint a special prosecutor in the Epstein case after weeks of refusing to release the Epstein files. This week, House Democrats voted unanimously to release the files. Republicans voted to keep them hidden. With deep respect for the victims, their trauma and their privacy, everyone on the Epstein list must be held accountable no matter who they are. Release the files,” Pelosi raged.
Well then. That’s quite the turnaround.
At the time of this writing, Trump announced that he would be releasing the transcripts from grand jury testimonies regarding Epstein, a move that will surely mollify some who wish to see more information on the disgraced financier.
Whether or not Pelosi will comment again on Epstein remains unclear – but her sudden reversal in the public forum underscores ongoing resistance to any and every action taken by Trump.
