Looks like the fallout from a rather ill-advised impeachment effort against President Donald Trump just keeps on coming.
The impeachment effort was effectively initiated by AOC on social media and followed by formal impeachment proceedings by Representative Al Green.
For reference, Green is best known for being blasted as “unhinged” by Democrat Senator John Fetterman, whereas AOC is best known for … well pretty much the worst of the worst policy proposals.
If AOC ever bothered to work on official policy, that is, given that much of her time appears dedicated to ranting on social media in between her private jet flights to “Fight Oligarchy” rallies.
Little wonder that AOC, Green, and other likeminded Dems – otherwise known as the Dems that voted in favor of impeachment – have been blasted as “selfish” and “unserious” by multiple Democrats who aired their outrage in the public forum.
According to a report from Axios, quite a few Democrats simply cannot wait to tell off their more radical counterparts in a very public way.
Startling with a slew of commentaries delivered by anonymous Democrats.
“A completely unserious and selfish move,” one anonymous Democrat raged.
“I think you heard it from leadership today, they’re frustrated,” a second anonymous Democrat reported, noting that “a lot” of anger has emerged in the wake of the rash impeachment efforts undertaken by Green.
“Most people think it’s unhelpful,” a third anonymous Democrat detailed.
“It puts people in a difficult situation,” a fourth anonymous Democrat chimed in.
“There are a lot of other things we should be focused on right now,” a fifth anonymous Democrat added.
While anonymous sources can admittedly be questionable, something suggests that these anonymous Democrats really are representatives or senators that simply cannot stomach the so-called “Squad” anymore.
Though they also likely fear retribution from the Squad as well.
Other Democrats, however, are not at all afraid of going on the record – almost seeming to invite a public fight and/or debate.
Representative Jared Moskowitz, for instance, finds the impeachment effort especially horrific in the wake of the current international crisis.
“What a message to China and Russia – after we take military action, we try to impeach the president,” Moskowitz irritably remarked, seemingly aghast at his colleagues’ antics.
And the “unserious” nature of AOC, Green, and their ilk was even more evident when considering how few Democrats sided with them … including virtually no moderates.
“Just 79 House Democrats – mostly progressives in safe districts – stood with Green on trying to force the vote,” Axios noted.
Yup. Whereas 128 Democrats stood very publicly with Trump, as widely reported in multiple media outlets.
As for the response of AOC and Green?
Well, Green spewed his typical nonsense upon being asked about the resounding failure to impeach Trump for a third time.
“I respect people have opinions that differ with my opinion,” Green brayed.
Is that so?
Leading Democrat Senator John Fetterman appears to hold a different view, considering that he publicly characterized Green as “unhinged” for his crazed behavior in March.
“Do we really want to give this president the power to take over 300 million people to war without consulting with Congress?” Green added.
It is unclear which “300 million people” Green is referring to, but the representative probably reasons that hyperbolic commentary, rather than rationality, appeals to his rabid base.
Green also claimed that the vote was a matter of “conscience.”
Right.
Where was such “conscience” when previous Democrat administrations commenced massive bombing campaigns … without Congressional approval?
It would appear that Green’s “conscience” only seems to surface in matters related to Trump, while he turns a blind eye to the same actions undertaken by other warmongers … like Obama.
