Oh, to be a fly on the wall of AOC’s (lavish) New York abode now!
Considering that 128 Democrats voted resoundingly against her pitiable calls for “impeachment” against President Trump.
“The President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers. He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment,” AOC raged on X.
Of course, while all AOC did was rant on social media, another Democrat actually did the “real work.”
Too bad that the “real work” is so darn divisive … though it’s at least less pitiable than AOC and her endless X wars.
As reported by The New Republic, Representative Al Green was the one who technically filed the articles of impeachment against Trump, though AOC clearly encouraged it with her social media tirade.
“President Trump’s unilateral, unprovoked use of force without congressional authorization or notice constitutes an abuse of power when there was no imminent threat to the United States, which facilitates the devolution of American democracy into authoritarianism,” Green asserted.
No “imminent threat” that Green was aware of, that is.
“I did not come to Congress to be a bystander while a president abuses power and devolves American democracy into authoritarianism with himself as an authoritarian president. President Trump’s unauthorized bombing of Iran constitutes a de facto declaration of war,” Green ranted.
Spare us, Green. Everyone knows you are no “bystander” following your epic tirade against Trump in March … which “earned” Green the right to be censured.
Leading Democrat Senator John Fetterman blasted Green for his derelict behavior as well.
As for Green’s latest effort against Trump?
It’s not terribly convincing, considering the past precedents set … by Democrats and Republicans alike.
“But the calls will likely amount to nothing, as impeachment is incredibly unlikely to be approved by the House … [Impeachment] also raises questions about the politics of who is allowed to circumvent congressional approval to drop bombs on another country. Former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden each dropped thousands of bombs on various nations without receiving congressional approval, but they didn’t receive any calls for their impeachment,” The New Republic admitted.
Nokidding!
Which is likely why 128 Democrats voted resoundingly against yet another resolution to impeach Trump.
According to a report from Fox News, the 128 Democrats who opposed the measure to impeach Trump “all three members of House Democratic leadership,” including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, House Minority Whip Katherine Clark, and House Democratic Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar.
Little wonder that Trump was so gleeful on his own social media platform.
“[AOC] better start worrying about her own Primary, before she thinks about beating our Great Palestinian Senator, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, whose career is definitely on very thin ice! She and her Democrat friends have just hit the Lowest Poll Numbers in Congressional History, so go ahead and try Impeaching me,” Trump boomed.
For that matter, perhaps the American people should start worrying as well.
Especially if they steadily wise up to the fact that such “unilateral” attacks appear to have been the norm since 9/11.
