While President Donald Trump has dominated numerous headlines as of late, it would appear that Vice President JD Vance is taking an increasingly hawkish stance in international affairs.
Which has been especially evident in Vance’s responses to former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
Medvedev is deeply displeased by American attacks on Iran, which he made evident in a rather threatening social media post.
“A number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads,” Medvedev put in an ominous X post. “At this rate, Trump can forget about the Nobel Peace Prize – not even with how rigged it has become. What a way to kick things off, Mr. President,” Medvedev raged on X.
So, in other words, Medvedev is making it abundantly clear that Russia may well be seeking “revenge” for the attack on its major proxy state in the Middle East.
On top of that, Medvedev claimed – without evidence – that the strikes were not even effective.
“What have the Americans accomplished with their nighttime strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran?
- Critical infrastructure of the nuclear fuel cycle appears to have been unaffected or sustained only minor damage.
- The enrichment of nuclear material – and, now we can say it outright, the future production of nuclear weapons – will continue. 3. A number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads,” Medvedev added in a separate post on X.
Needless to say, Vance was less than impressed.
According to a report from the New York Post, Vance blasted the response as downright “bizarre” … before putting Russian President Vladimir Putin on the defensive as well.
“First of all, I think it’s a bizarre response, but I also don’t know that that guy speaks for President Putin or for the Russian government. [Russia has] been very consistent that they don’t want Iran to get a nuclear weapon. I’ll let President [Vladimir] Putin speak to what the official Russian position on this is,” Vance declared.
Way to put Putin on the spot with that remark.
Especially as Ukraine’s foreign ministry agrees with him as well.
The Ukrainian entity, in agreement with Vance, also noted Iran has been highly “complicit” in many troubling attacks on US military interests, not to mention Ukraine itself, which is another reason why the United States was ostensibly justified in its attacks.
“As early as this spring, the United States warned Iran of the consequences in the absence of constructive steps …Iran is complicit in the crime of aggression against Ukraine. The Iranian regime is providing military assistance to Russia, including the supply of UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles] and technologies that Russia consistently uses to kill people and destroy critical infrastructure,” Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry proclaimed.
Excellent observations.
“We are convinced that the measures taken by the United States and Israel against Iranian nuclear facilities have sent a clear message to the Iranian regime — a message that the continuation of policies aimed at destabilizing regional security is unacceptable,” Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry continued.
Will the world continue its further descent into chaotic madness?
That all depends on how clearly Putin heeds Vance’s warning.
