Looks like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is continuing to enjoy defeating top Democrats left and right in the public forum.
First, DeSantis scored an epic victory against California Governor Gavin Newsom during their rather random debate near the end of 2023.
As noted by the Hoover Institution, that debate “revealed several inconvenient truths about California and Gavin Newsom.”
Now, it would appear that DeSantis is able to do a victory dance on the East Coast as well.
After all, it would appear that New York Governor Kathy Hochul is apparently just as ineffectual at representing her constituents as Newsom.
Considering that DeSantis is somehow able to move Americans out of Israel … yet Hochul apparent is not.
As detailed by CBS News, “evacuation flights are underway and so far [Florida] has help to bring back hundreds of Americans.”
DeSantis himself takes pride in this development, making it clear that many individuals will be arriving back to the United States safely under his watch.
“The reality is that there will be more folks that are going to be rescued. This is an ongoing effort. I know that potentially there are some other states that want to get in the game at this point. The reality is that there is definitely a need for more. I know we helped get people out of Israel initially which is important, I don’t know when Ben Gurion Airport is going to open again. It may not open for some time,” DeSantis said.
Well, one thing is for sure: New Yorkers would surely appreciate an “ongoing effort” on their behalf with regards to evacuations … an effort that has apparently not been commenced by Hochul.
Apparently, Hochul is far more militant about installing new tolls than she is about bringing Americans home.
And more than one New Yorker isn’t afraid to express that.
According to a report from the New York Post, one such individual includes Erika Reichelscheimer, who is clearly not afraid to go on the record about her displeasure with Hochul.
“We cannot even get a call back, Disappointed is an understatement. I haven’t even seen Hochul say anything,” Reichelscheimer raged.
Well, politicians these days are not exactly known for “reaching out” to their constituents in a real way. Stands to reason that they will not respond to them either.
Another individual angrily criticized Hochul’s seemingly lackadaisical approach to evacuations, though they requested anonymity in their commentary to the Post.
This individual, who hails from Long Island, is quite concerned as they have a teenaged relative currently studying in Israel.
“It wouldn’t even occur to Hochul to help constituents stranded in a war zone … She’s doing nothing,” the relative angrily began.
Fair point.
If anything, Hochul – in conjunction with other New York “leaders” – has created a situation in which a war zone may well emerge within the United States.
Given the hordes of illegal migrants that have swarmed Manhattan.
“[Hochul] should be doing what DeSantis did – partner with private contractors to get your citizens out,” the relative raged.
Well, more than one Democrat should certainly be doing what DeSantis is doing in more than one way … but that would require consuming a large dose of humble pie.
And Dems would appear to be deeply allergic to humble pie.
“She should have organized this already … There’s no excuse to sit on her hands as she heads the state with the most Jews in the country,” the relative continued.
Without a doubt. But, once again, that would require care for the constituents … Which is clearly at a major deficit. Has been at a major deficit, really.
Perhaps the surplus care went to migrants and their “culturally relevant” food items, yet another moronic Democrat move that earned the ire of a high level rapper.
Meanwhile, it would appear that more than one New Yorker would prefer the presence of DeSantis over Hochul, especially given his clear concern for citizens.
Indeed, a New York couple with an 18-year-old son proclaimed that Hochul really should be doing what DeSantis has been doing.
“DeSantis is doing what he is supposed to do … We wish Hochul was doing the same,” the couple grumbled.
