Wow.
While Governor Gruesome of California has been rather notorious for being amongst the more insufferable Democrats, even he is taking things a step too far by raging against Trump for not being able to give hundreds of thousands of illegals “free” healthcare.
That’s right: Apparently, it’s Trump’s fault that at least 700,000 illegals in California cannot receive healthcare now.
Democrat “logic” at its finest.
As detailed by Politico, Governor Gruesome – or Newsom – is apparently beside himself that he can’t dole out endless funds to illegals, following a reported $12B deficit.
“We have a president that’s been reckless in terms of assaulting those growth engines … It’s created a climate of deep uncertainty,” Newsom raged.
Illegals are “growth engines?” That’s new.
Unless the only “growth” they are achieving is an enlargement of the Dems’ ever-dwindling base.
“Best to describe this as a Trump slump,” Newsom ranted.
Right.
So, in other words, a “Trump slump” is the official reason Newsom apparently plans to use for why upwards of 700,000+ illegals can no longer receive “free” healthcare in his state.
Then again, one might question why Newsom was crazy enough to make such an “offer” to illegals in the first place.
A separate Politico report detailed the degree to which Newsom apparently felt compelled to kowtow to illegals, which is quite crazy, to put it mildly.
“In an effort to narrow a looming budget hole, California Gov. Gavin Newsom is backing away from a centerpiece of his time in office: free health insurance for undocumented immigrants,” Politico detailed.
Ah, yes. “Free” health insurance … funded by increasingly beleaguered Californians.
“Under a plan that is part of a larger budget proposal Newsom will unveil later this morning, adults 19-years-old and older who are living in the country illegally would no longer be able to register for the state’s Medi-Cal insurance program beginning in 2026,” Politico continued.
So, in other words, illegals can still use healthcare throughout the remainder of 2025. Got it.
“Children and teens will still be eligible,” Politico added.
Ah, but of course.
Frankly, such a “free” healthcare program is patently absurd in the first place, but raging against Trump for being unable to give “free” healthcare to illegals really takes the cake.
“The state must take difficult but necessary steps,” Newsom whined.
Is that so?
It’s odd that the state feels the need to take such “necessary steps” amid a $12B deficit, considering that it began the bizarre healthcare program for illegal migrants when it already had a $68B deficit.
In a press release dated January 4, 2024 – more than a year before Trump took office – the House made it rather clear that Newsom had questionable priorities.
Just consider the title of the press release: “Newsom Extends Free Healthcare to 700,000 Illegal Immigrants Despite Record Budget Deficit.”
“On Monday, California became the first state to expand Medicaid to include all illegal immigrants residing in the state, flooding the state’s Medicaid program, Medi-Cal, with as many as 700,000 illegal immigrants despite a record $68 billion state budget deficit,” the House reported.
So, in other words, Newsom also had a massive deficit last year, but he failed to throw a fit over not being able to “afford” free healthcare for illegals.
So, what changed?
Aside from increasing desperation statewide, that is.
“California is already facing a significant provider access crisis, with vulnerable Medi-Cal beneficiaries facing lengthy wait times for medically necessary care. According to the California Senate Republican Fiscal Office, the influx of illegal immigrants onto the safety net program, many of whom are able-bodied adults without dependents, will exacerbate this crisis and recklessly endanger access to health care for vulnerable Americans residing in California,” the press release added.
Perhaps the press release should convert “influx” to “invasion.”
Especially as it’s not only the physical land of the country that has been steadily conquered by various tribes, but also the increasingly precarious safety net of social services that Americans have paid into, generation over generation.
Only for it all to rapidly vanish into the night following Obama’s third term.
