Now that is a royally sweet – and surprisingly innocuous – surprise.
Well aware of President Trump’s love of McDonald’s, a longstanding American classic, Saudia Arabia opted to pull out all the stops and present a “mobile McDonald’s” to Trump upon his eagerly anticipated arrival to the Middle East, as reported by the Daily Mail.
“President Donald Trump will be well catered for if he gets a sudden fast food urge in Saudi Arabia. Journalists covering his trip to the capital Riyadh noticed a nearby mobile McDonald’s. The moveable fast food joint was hooked up to a large truck …It came after Trump landed to kick off the first major overseas trip of his second term.
He was greeted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, who gave him an ultra-lavish welcome to the kingdom,” the Daily Mail detailed.
Quite the contrast with the tepid handshake that Biden received from the same Saudi royal.
Indeed, while Biden was greeted with a less than robust response from the Saudi royal family, Trump received a veritable hero’s welcome, complete with a world-class, moveable McDonald’s.
“Yes, it’s a mobile @McDonalds here in Riyadh,” English journalist Mike Wagenheim tweeted, including a video of one of the (many) welcome presents waiting for Trump upon his entry into the oil-rich kingdom.
However, Trump achieved far more than chowing down on cheeseburgers and french fries … he achieved some major league deals as well.
The White House issued a fact sheet regarding the visit, delineating several quantitative facts that underscore the “America First” items on the Middle Eastern agenda.
“Today in Saudi Arabia, President Donald J. Trump announced Saudi Arabia’s $600-billion commitment to invest in the United States, building economic ties that will endure for generations to come. The first deals under the announcement strengthen our energy security, defense industry, technology leadership, and access to global infrastructure and critical minerals,” the White House declared.
Dang. From the minerals deal in Ukraine to the minerals deal in Saudi Arabia … it would appear that America has made more than one lucrative agreement designed to calm market jitters.
Not to mention at least one agreement that has shattered the record books.
“The deals celebrated today are historic and transformative for both countries and represent a new golden era of partnership between the United States and Saudi Arabia,” the White House continued.
Without a doubt, an indisputably “golden era” did emerge from Trump’s first major presidential trip … given the “historic” nature of the agreements signed.
Much like the Abraham Accords, which warranted recognition of the first Trump administration as a peacemaking entity.
“Underscoring our commitment to strengthening our defense and security partnership, the United States and Saudi Arabia signed the largest defense sales agreement in history – nearly $142 billion, providing Saudi Arabia with state-of-the-art warfighting equipment and services from over a dozen U.S. defense firms,” the White House added.
In other words, the Saudi government will be investing handsomely into American defense contractors.
“Leading up to this historic deal, President Trump had already secured trillions in U.S.-based investments, setting the stage for a new era of American prosperity,” the White House concluded.
And may that prosperity continue throughout the duration of 2025 …
