Major News Network Stuns World With “Mob Boss” Accusations

Wow. Talk about playing with fire.

According to a stunning report in the New York Post, “60 Minutes” recently “ran a highly partisan segment likening President Trump to a cold-blooded mob boss.”

Tellingly, the news network ran this segment despite the fact that its corporate parent is currently in the process of settling a $20B lawsuit with the Trump administration over reported election interference.

Rolling the dice, to put it mildly.

Nonetheless, correspondent Scott Pelley blasted Trump’s behaviors as the equivalent of “mob boss” actions, given their blatant fear and intimidation tactics.

“The fact is that these law firms are being told, ‘If you don’t play ball with us, maybe somethin’ really bad will happen to you,” Pelley warned, before segueing into additionally explosive elements of his show.

One especially explosive element included an appearance by Marc Elias.

Elias is reportedly a “a longtime rival of Trump,” and he was sure to affirm many of Pelley’s more incendiary remarks.

“Donald Trump is the walking embodiment of everything that is wrong with the American political system,” Elias baldly declared.

That’s quite the statement to make. The embodiment of everything that is wrong in American politics? Really?

Considering that the media itself has stoked much of the massive division in the first place – alongside its partners in crime in Silicon Valley – that is quite possibly one of the more blatant “pot calling the kettle black” remarks.

The “pot calling the kettle black” analogy further escalated under the commentary of Elias, as he seemingly suggested that Trump has no morality whatsoever.

“And so when Donald Trump says that I am unethical or that I am undermining his vision of America, I say, ‘Boy I must be doin’ something right,” Elias bragged.

Right.

On his part, Pelley eagerly agreed with all of Elias’s commentary, undoubtedly making him an even bigger target for Paramount executives.

After all, it is no surprise that Elias is also a former Perkins Coie partner who played an instrumental role in Ms. Harris’s ailing campaign … and Harris is the precise reason why Paramount is currently embroiled in a huge lawsuit with the Trump administration.

Even worse, Pelley was already under fire for his unexpected rant against Paramount executives, as he recently accused them – on air – of openly restricting journalistic freedom.

Specifically, Pelley charged that Paramount was in the process of a large merger that required approval from the Trump administration, and once that process began, journalistic freedom was threatened.

“Paramount began to supervise our content in new ways,” Pelley asserted, adding that “he [feels] he lost the independence that honest journalism requires.”

An ironic remark in light of the heavily edited interview with Kamala Harris.

Nonetheless, the remark does illuminate the crucial importance of First Amendment protections, which genuine American conservatives have long espoused.
