In recent years, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has openly mused about encouraging progressively younger and younger individuals to vote.
At one point, Pelosi went as far as to suggest that 16-year-olds should vote.
“I myself have always been for lowering the voting age to 16 … I think it’s really important to capture kids when they’re in high school, when they’re interested in all of this, when they’re learning about government, to be able to vote,” Pelosi proclaimed, as reported by The Hill.
“Capture,” huh? Interesting choice of words when talking about theoretical children, or individuals who have not yet reached the age of 18.
An even more interesting choice of words when used in a political context.
In any event, Pelosi would suggest that Americans should vote while they’re still in the middle of high school … after all, she seems to assume that pretty much the entirety of Generation Z and a significant swathe of the Millennial generation will mindlessly vote Democrat.
However, it would appear that Pelosi assumed wrong.
Which is precisely why she may want to rethink her recommendation at this point in time.
Especially since legions of young voters have become steadily less “progressive” in recent times … which more than one Democrat has now been forced to admit.
As reported by Newsmax, a “prominent” Democrat pollster – David Shor – is apparently stunned that hordes of Gen Z voters are steadily swallowing red pills.
Making his remarks during a recent podcast with New York Times columnist Ezra Klein, Shor expressed complete amazement that Gen Z voters are “becoming potentially the most conservative generation” the nation has seen in at least half a century.
“This is the thing I am the most shocked by in the last four years — that young people have gone from being the most progressive generation since the Baby Boomers … to becoming potentially the most conservative generation that we’ve experienced maybe in 50 to 60 years,” Shor fretted.
“Shocked?” Really? Exactly how out of touch do modern day Democrats need to be in order to realize they should not be “shocked” at all by legions of young people who are able to fact check liberals more quickly than liberals’ own “aides?”
In particular young people not born into the wealthy households dominated by Democrats who reign supreme over inexplicably inexpensive, albeit crime-ridden, coastal cities.
Shor’s remarks emerge in response to the results of an AtlasIntel poll, in which support for Trump has rocketed by 52.7 percent amongst Americans aged 18 to 29.
While young men are reportedly 23 percent more likely to support Trump than young women, the entirety of Generation Z has certainly shifted towards being more “conservative.”
Apparently, the Democrats still cannot figure out why they continue to lose ground amongst their most reliable voting blocs.
Perhaps liberals should return to their real roots – as in the Enlightenment Era roots – and realize that diversity of thought probably isn’t such a bad thing after all.
Especially since no Dem appears capable of figuring out why the party is still losing …
