Dems sure do have a classy way of displaying unity, that’s for sure.
According to an article recently published by The Hill, “a spirited series of disruptive protests” muddled President Donald Trump’s recent address to the nation, which, by most measures, was a clear success.
Not that the Dems wanted it to be a success, judging from their ludicrous antics.
The article features a rather hilarious – and accurate – title: “Democrats disrupt, protest and wear pained expressions for Trump’s speech.”
Because that’s exactly what quite a few Democrats did throughout Trump’s address, making it rather clear that so-called “unity” is the last thing on their mind.
Within minutes of Trump’s speech to Congress, Texas Representative Al Green leapt to his feet and began to heckle Trump, prompting House Speaker Mike Johnson to remind Green to “maintain decorum in the House.”
Green, however, was apparently uninterested in maintaining decorum, and he was also not interested in taking his seat, as directed.
As a result of his complete defiance, coupled with a clear rebellion against decorum, Green found himself swiftly ejected from the House.
It should come as no surprise that Green was one of the first Democrats to throw a world class fit.
After all, mere weeks ago, Green already initiated impeachment articles against Trump … over Gaza.
Go figure.
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. and injustice in Gaza is a threat to justice in the United States of America … I rise to announce that the movement to impeach the president has begun. I rise to announce that I will bring articles of impeachment against the president for dastardly deeds proposed and dastardly deeds done,” Green proclaimed, according to a report from Politico.
Right.
Needless to say, quite a few Democrats who have previously criticized Republicans for such outbursts, including Representative Hakeem Jeffries, were rather pained to see their own summarily ejected from Trump’s first major address to the nation.
Republicans, however, made light of the incident, letting out a chorus of “Hey, Hey, Hey – Goodbye” as Green stalked out.
The Hill noted that Green’s ejection was the most “dramatic” incident of the evening, but the publication also observed that “it was hardly the only one.”
No kidding. After all, the Dems do tend to hurl all their toys out of the pram whenever losing anything, no matter how well-deserved the loss clearly is.
Which was rather evident when quite a few other Dems declared their intention to “resist” on the back of their apparel, which was soon followed by their own voluntary departure.
“Shortly after Green’s ejection, several other Democrats stood and turned their backs on Trump to display a one-word message on the back of their shirts: ‘Resist.’ Then lawmakers — including Democratic Reps. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), Lateefah Simon (D-Calif.) and Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) — marched out of the chamber on their own accord,” The Hill noted.
Several other Democrats opted to wear different colors to symbolize different types of protests, which was also hilarious.
Some wore white in honor of suffragists who fought for women’s right to vote, despite the fact that many women voted for Trump in all three elections.
Others wore pink to protest Trump’s allegedly anti-family policies, despite the fact that Trump just passedanother pro-family executive action designed to make IVF more affordable.
Still others wore black in apparent protest of – you guessed it – the alleged racism of the Trump administration.
Little wonder that Trump acknowledged all the protestors without dwelling on them, as he knows – quite well – that nothing will satisfy them.
“I realize there is absolutely nothing I can say to make them happy or make them stand and smile or applause. These people standing right here will not clap, will not cheer,” Trump mused.
No worries, Mr. President – Far more Americans were cheering than Democrats were rebelling.
