Well, that escalated quickly.
Recently, Vice President JD Vance attempted to take a brief, peaceful ski trip in Vermont his wife, Usha, and their young children, staying at the Sugarbrush Resort.
However, it seems that Vance found himself at the center of a firestorm upon his arrival in Vermont, with swarms of angry protestors filling the streets, making their rage towards Vance abundantly clear.
Needless to say, the sheer number of protestors, coupled with their wrath, is precisely why the Vance family has been reportedly moved to “an undisclosed location” for their own safety.
Yikes.
After being forcibly relocated to a presumably safer location, one thing has become clear: If Vance thought he would be enjoying a peaceful, albeit brief, holiday with his family, he likely should have thought again.
Either that, or he may have wanted to have a brief vacation in a location outside of the longstanding home state of Mr. “Revolution” Bernie Sanders – Vermont.
Indeed, Vermont is home to quite a few fiercely proactive liberals, if not outright Marxists, given the longstanding popularity of Mr. “Revolution” Sanders.
Which is precisely why Vance was greeted by hundreds upon hundreds of protestors when he and his family arrived to Vermont.
Naturally, protestors were carrying signs that demonstrated their deep displeasure with Vance’s current approach to foreign policy, specifically with regards to Ukraine and Russia.
“Have you no shame? Support Ukraine,” one protestor’s sign blared.
“Join the right side of history,” another protestor’s sign proclaimed.
Other more aggressive signs included Nazi symbols, alongside a host of other messages that demonstrated their clear wrath towards Vance.
And protestors did not just fill the streets, angrily waiting for Vance’s arrival: On the contrary, several protestors even camped out by the ski lifts themselves, willing to bear freezing cold temperatures for hours so that they could continue to shout at Vance and his family as they attempted to ski.
Emphasis on “attempted,” as it seems Vance and his family will no longer be enjoying their ski holiday as planned – it is merely too risky, apparently.
Indeed, the protestors may have been well within their First Amendment rights.
However, it is also clear that no risks were being taken, given the increasingly hostile political environment unfolding across the country.
Notably, these protestors defied the recommendation of their own governor, who is ironically a Republican.
Indeed, Vermont Governor Phil Scott urged the protestors to demonstrate respect upon Vance’s arrival to the state.
“I hope Vermonters remember the Vice President is here on a family trip with his young children and, while we may not always agree, we should be respectful. Please join me in welcoming them to Vermont, and hoping they have an opportunity to experience what makes our state, and Vermonters, so special,” Scott urged.
Alas, Scott’s encouragement clearly fell on deaf ears, hence the Vance family’s unexpected relocation to an “undisclosed location” for their own safety.
The rage of the protestors can be attributed to Vance’s remarks towards Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the recent, disastrous Oval Office meeting, in which a peace deal unfortunately was not reached.
Apparently, protestors were angered by Vance’s calls for basic respect of President Donald Trump, notably when he stated, “Mr. President, with respect, I think it’s disrespectful for you to come into the Oval Office to try to litigate this in front of the American media. Right now, you guys are going around and forcing conscripts to the front lines because you have manpower problems. You should be thanking the president for trying to bring an end to this conflict.”
Naturally, it appears the protestors were none too pleased with Vance’s Oval Office performance, and they generated a large enough backlash to force his relocation elsewhere.
Will Vance and his family face an untold number of relocations to an “undisclosed location” in the future?
That remains to be seen, but the likelihood of them moving about in peace over the nex four years does not seem promising.
