Judging from some of the most recent DOGE findings, it is not surprising at all that DHS Secretary Kristi Noem recently declared, “we must get rid of FEMA the way it exists today.”
After all, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is, in theory, supposed to provide support for Americans who are grappling with the aftermath of natural disasters.
Alas, it seems that the Biden-Harris administration considered it perfectly appropriate to delegate FEMA funds to illegal migrants’ luxury hotel stays … a practice that has apparently continued until DOGE made a rather brutal discovery.
“The @DOGE team just discovered that FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants. Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order. That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals! A clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds,” Musk tweeted.
So, in other words, $59M of FEMA funds were blown on illegal migrants in just one week to house illegal migrants in New York City.
Imagine how much money was spent over four years.
Which is rather ironic, considering that a total of four individuals has been fired from FEMA for “egregious payments” to illegal migrants.
According to a report from the New York Post, these FEMA officials apparently thought it was better to spend tens of millions in emergency relief for Americans on illegal criminals instead.
“Effective immediately, FEMA is terminating the employment of four individuals for circumventing leadership to unilaterally make egregious payments for luxury NYC hotels for migrants,” DHS officials declared in an official statement viewed by the New York Post.
It sure would be nice to know how many payments were made in total, especially if the total could result in potential criminal implications.
“Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS will not sit idly and allow deep state activists to undermine the will and safety of the American people,” the DHS officials added.
Thank goodness.
Just imagine if Comrade Kamala were in charge now … FEMA would have probably sent $590M in the last week, rather than $59M.
And, pitiably, even $590M would have been a drop in the bucket for the billions blown on illegals in Manhattan instead.
In New York City, varied officials from City Hall insisted that expenditures on illegal migrants’ luxury hotel rooms never occurred, though such insistence generally fell on deaf ears.
After all, if no FEMA funds were blown on illegals, then why, pray tell, were four FEMA employees suddenly let go?
Frankly, if DOGE discovers $59M blown on illegal migrants in one city alone, in one week alone, from one agency alone, how many other billions (or trillions) have been wasted?
Inquiring minds want to know … and inquiring minds also want to know exactly how much can be “clawed back” under DOGE.
Perhaps they can claw some funds back from the Dems’ ailing presidential campaign … yet that one is also deeply in the red.
Fortunately, Trump and his team are now in charge, but they still have to unwind all the chaos from Dems living large.
