Looks like another example of extreme governmental waste revealed itself before DOGE even got to it.
Especially when accounting for “liberal math,” the ultimate oxymoron.
If there is one way that the ultra-liberal globalists can ever serve as the gift that keeps on giving, it’s the repeated reminders that they provide the general public about how utterly inept they are at basic financial management.
Not to mention basic audience analysis, given how often their message is lost on voters, who have increasingly turned towards an individual who actually speaks to them – President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, Democrats embark on $1B+ environmental boondoggles that just illuminate how wholly out of touch they are.
Starting with Emperor Obama, whose disastrous administrations have been linked to yet another profound waste of taxpayer funds, revealed many years after the fact.
As just reported by Fox News, the Obama administration has been explicitly linked to a “financial boondoggle” that may be generously characterized as an extraordinary waste of taxpayer funds.
Under the previous Obama administration, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) under former President Barack Obama issued $1.6B in loan guarantees to finance the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility in 2011.
The solar plant facility consisted of three different plants in California, otherwise known as Commiefornia.
At the time, the solar plant facility was heralded as alleged proof of America serving as “a world leader” in sustainability.
Indeed, Ernest Moniz, who was serving as the department’s secretary at the time, declared that the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility would be a preeminent “example of how America is becoming a world leader in solar energy.”
Alas, as with many things that Emperor Obama has touched, the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility ended up being an excellent example of tremendous federal waste.
As it turns out that Ivanpah Solar Power Facility that the Obama administration long bragged about is set to shut down for a host of different reasons.
From producing inadequate amounts of electricity to relying heavily upon natural gas in order to remain operational, it appeared that the “world leading” energy project under Obama has ended in rather abysmal failure.
Jason Isaac, who is the CEO of the American Energy Institute, an American energy advocacy group, informed Fox News that the Obama-era debacle was just another example of a tremendous “boondoggle” on behalf of the federal government.
“Ivanpah is yet another failed green energy boondoggle, much like Solyndra. Despite receiving $1.6 billion in federal loan guarantees, it never lived up to its promises, producing less electricity than expected while still relying on natural gas to stay operational,” Isaac remarked in disgust.
In other words, yet another Obama vanity project that was all surface and no substance.
“Now, with its power contracts canceled, Ivanpah stands as a testament to the waste and inefficiency of government-subsidized energy schemes,” Isaac added pointedly.
To be fair to the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility, however, at least that solar project wasted $1.6B over ten years.
Comrade Kamala, on the other hand, wasted at least $1.2B over two months.
While inflation did indeed escalate dramatically under Biden, Comrade Kamala’s expenditures were arguably still beyond the pale, even with Bidenflation under consideration.
So, while the story reveals, rather unfortunately, that yet another $1.6B in taxpayer money was funneled into an ultimately ill-conceived “green energy” project, it inadvertently reveals a clear upside.
Had Harris been in power now, she likely would have approved some $100B environmental boondoggle that would go down in flames under twelve months later.
Since Trump is (very thankfully) in power instead, it is safe to say that such a disastrous use of taxpayer funds for pitiable virtue signaling will not occur … and thank goodness, given the clear aftermath of Obama’s nonsense more than ten years after the fact.
In a way, Obama’s boondoggle, the full effects of which have just unfolded, has further illuminated why the Democrats cannot and should not be trusted with money …
And it is highly likely that even more examples of his administration’s extreme waste will continue to rise to the surface.
