Well, that escalated quickly.
Apparently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has suddenly developed a taste for having nuclear weapons available for his disposal, as revealed in his recent conversation with Piers Morgan.
That said, he was sure to rant and rave about American commentator Tucker Carlson first, apparently due to Carlson’s questioning of Zelensky’s seemingly endless martial law and questionable leadership tactics.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Zelensky flew into a “foul-mouthed verbal assault on Tucker Carlson” shortly after the American commentator claimed that the Ukrainian president was ruling as a de facto dictator.
Apparently, Zelensky did not like the fact that Carlson pointed out the absence of elections that have occurred ever since the war occurred.
That development, amongst others, leads one to wonder just how much the United States really is “defending democracy” in a nation that seems to have eschewed many democratic practices.
Which is precisely why Zelensky wanted to shift the “narrative” to Putin.
“Putin has a narrative on elections, on my legitimacy, on dictatorship. That’s from a person who is 30 years in power! The bloody dictator, murderer who violated territorial integrity of Ukraine!” Zelensky shrieked.
Without a doubt.
Though, unfortunately, it is hardly uncommon for one dictator to target another … Just because Putin is a dictator, in other words, does not mean that others are not.
Frankly, it seems that both Putin and Zelensky have engaged in deeply unethical behavior, especially when considering their aggressive recruitment of the most vulnerable individuals in the world to serve as soldiers, or effective cannon fodder.
Several reports have emerged regarding Zelensky’s relentless military recruiting efforts, which have disproportionately, if not exclusively, targeted less economically privileged individuals.
For this reason, it is rather unsurprising that Zelensky has continued to harp on the “narrative” spread by Putin, and, per Zelensky, Carlson.
“All that is Putin’s narrative. And regrettably, this blogger or journalist – whatever he wants to call himself – unfortunately fully repeats the words of Putin and what he wants. He works for Putin because he wants to lower me to the level of Putin,” Zelensky continued angrily.
Uh huh. Or he wants to point out the troubling similarities between both regimes, both of which appear to be troublingly bloodthirsty.
“It seems to me that this journalist – I do not remember his surname, excuse me, Tucker. Yes, yes, Tucker is his name – he needs to more deeply understand what’s happening in Ukraine, to stop working for Putin, to stop licking his ass,” Zelensky roared.
Classy. One can only hope that a misunderstanding in translation occurred with this outburst.
Outside of his ranting and raving about Carlson, Zelensky also claimed that every dollar sent to Ukraine had been accounted for, another rather questionable assertion.
Then, at perhaps the most chilling point in the interview, Zelensky astonishingly demanded nuclear weapons.
Guess receiving permission from the Biden administration to use long range missiles inside Russian territory has whetted Zelensky’s appetite for even more dangerous weapons.
Thus, the Ukrainian president called for ignoring nuclear disarmament, which had been an agreement made under the Budapest Memorandum in 1994.
“Ukraine may need its nuclear weapons back if they were not allowed to join NATO,” Zelensky ominously intoned.
Way to put the world on edge, again, shortly after a new year has begun.
That said, at least Comrade Kamala is not in charge … otherwise, the nuclear shipments would probably already be on their way to Ukraine.
