Of all the campaign promises that President Donald Trump made, his vow to clean up illegal migration was undoubtedly one of the most important.
As a result, one of Trump’s most compelling executive orders – “Protecting the American People Against Invasion” – worked to undo some of the absolute worst practices of the Biden-Harris administration.
“Over the last 4 years, the prior administration invited, administered, and oversaw an unprecedented flood of illegal immigration into the United States. Millions of illegal aliens crossed our borders or were permitted to fly directly into the United States on commercial flights and allowed to settle in American communities, in violation of longstanding Federal laws,” the executive order detailed.
The flights of illegal migrants really take the cake, especially when the flights achieved exactly nothing in terms of reducing pressure at the border.
Hint: Perhaps finishing Trump’s wall could have reduced pressure at the border, but the Biden administration wasn’t about to do that.
Luckily, Trump is back and ready to protect Americans – again – from illegals.
“This order ensures that the Federal Government protects the American people by faithfully executing the immigration laws of the United States,” the order added.
The executive order may be reviewed in its entirety here.
As reported by Blaze Media, this executive order, like many of Trump’s executive orders, has actual teeth.
Which is especially clear when reviewing a pointed memo from Trump Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove … which puts sanctuary cities on grave notice.
Bove, who also served as Trump’s former defense attorney, has made it abundantly clear that he is disgusted by Tren de Aragua and MS-13, blasting them as a “scourge on society resulting in an unstable and unsafe border and huge flows of illegal immigration in violation of U.S. law.”
“The Justice Department must, and will, work to eradicate these threats. Indeed, it is the responsibility of the Justice Department to defend the Constitution and, accordingly, to lawfully execute the policies that the American people elected President Trump to implement,” Bove wrote, neatly complementing the language of Trump’s executive order.
“To defend the Constitution.” Imagine that!
Not to mention “eradicate” the senseless threats brought about by Biden’s wide open borders.
Hence the “vigorous” approach of the new and improved DA.
“The Justice Department’s responsibility, proudly shouldered by each of its employees, includes aggressive enforcement of laws enacted by Congress, as well as vigorous defense of the President’s actions on behalf of the United States against legal challenges. The Department’s personnel must come together in the offices that taxpayers have funded to do this vitally important work,” Bove declared.
Trump will surely need that “vigorous defense” against legal challenges, especially as quite a few states are already readying their pitiable lawsuits against his lawful deportation orders.
And those states, in particular sanctuary cities within those states, should be cautious in their arrogance … especially as Bove makes it very clear that states are in direct violation of the law if they aid and abet illegals.
“Federal law prohibits state and local actors from resisting, obstructing, and otherwise failing to comply with lawful immigration-related commands and requests. The U.S. Attorney’s Offices and litigating components of the Department of Justice shall investigate incidents involving any such misconduct for potential prosecution, including for obstructing federal functions,” Bove boomed.
Excellent. Let’s start with Chicago Mayor “Brandon” Johnson, who has all but declared war on the Trump administration by defiantly doubling down on his blatantly illegal sanctuary city’s “policies” on migrants.
Fortunately, Trump has quite a few more tools in his shed than such mayors, which Bove also made quite evident.
“Further, the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security shall evaluate and undertake any other lawful actions, criminal or civil, that they deem warranted based on any such jurisdiction’s practices that interfere with the enforcement of Federal law,” Bove declared.
“Any other lawful actions … that they deem warranted.” Such a phrase undoubtedly is in direct reference to especially defiant Democrats.
Thus, woke sanctuary city mayors, such as “Brandon” Johnson, can demand for city employees to not “consent” to federal immigration officials all they want.
Knowing them, however, such mayors will probably just cry “racism” while doubling down on their blatantly illegal stance on mass migration.
Fortunately, whining about “racism” when it does not exist will not fly with the Trump administration, nor will it fly with any other sensible leader in the future.
