Several months ago, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shocked the world when he proclaimed that President-elect Donald Trump was a “bad a–.”
Indeed, Zuckerberg was quite impressed by the way the President-elect conducted himself amid an egregious assassination effort during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and he made those feelings clear shortly thereafter.
“On some level as an American, it’s like hard to not get kind of emotional about that spirit and that fight,” Zuckerberg proclaimed.
The tech wizard also declared that he was “planning on not playing a significant role in the election … and that includes not endorsing either of the candidates.”
A rather large shift between 2020 and 2024, that’s for sure.
And the surprises have kept on coming in 2025.
Zuckerberg has been full of all kinds of surprises as of late – and that should not come as a dramatic surprise.
After all, Zuckerberg is clearly a bit brighter than most greedy politicians, and he correctly perceives which way the sails are blowing ideologically.
And those sails are blowing far, far away from the ultra-woke, who played an impressive role in Comrade Kamala’s epic loss against President-elect Trump.
And, in a bid to show his efforts to rein in the leftist leanings of Facebook, a Meta subsidiary, Zuckerberg has made a surprise, albeit indirect, move in favor of Musk.
As reported by the New York Post, Zuckerberg has apparently declared “a major overhaul of its global policy team,” chiefly by replacing ultra-woke Nick Clegg with ultra-conservative Joel Kaplan.
“Kaplan, who once served as deputy chief of staff for George W. Bush, is set to take over the reins of the Facebook and Instagram owner just days before President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration,” the Postnoted.
Hallelujah.
Indeed, as Trump ascends to the Oval Office in just a few weeks’ time, Clegg is descending from the executive team of Facebook into other “adventures.”
For individuals unfamiliar with Mr. Clegg, it should be noted that Clegg played an absolutely foundational role in shaping the content moderation policies of Facebook for numerous years.
So, when Facebook lurched to the left, in a painfully obvious manner, the woke crowd can thank Clegg for his efforts.
Posts regarding the COVID lab leak theory? Squashed.
Posts regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop antics? Obliterated.
Posts regarding the importance of making American great again? Wholly annihilated.
Naturally, Clegg has long been full of derision towards Elon Musk, who appears to have rapidly become one of Trump’s closest confidantes.
“Unless you want to do an Elon Musk and let anyone say anything — but that’s not the way we run Facebook and Instagram,” Clegg previously boomed.
Ah, yes, those pesky First Amendment rights that the left loves to hate.
Clegg also previously declared that Facebook would work alongside regulators across the United Kingdom (UK) and European Union (EU) for purposes of “moderating” (i.e., controlling) content.
Clegg also insulted X directly, claiming that it was an elitist platform.
“It’s honestly not used by the vast majority of normal people around the world. People go to X to start yelling at each other about current affairs and politics … it’s a tiny, elite, news-obsessed, politics-obsessed app. The vast, vast, vast majority of people join Facebook and Instagram because they for much more playful reasons,” Clegg added.
More “playful reasons,” huh? That’s one way of describing the woke brainwashing that has long served as the mental floss of Facebook.
Until the appointment of **, that is.
Given the major league corporate shakeup at Facebook, it will be quite intriguing to see which direction the private and public sector alike veer in the forthcoming weeks.
