If the Dems are trying to claim that they’re all for democracy, they’re going about it in a dramatically inadequate fashion.
In a rather troubling report from the New York Post, yet another sanctuary city mayor is apparently defying Trump’s national security policies before he takes office.
This time, it’s the woke leader of Denver, Democratic Mayor Mike Johnston, who is literally pledging to wage war against federal immigration authorities for daring to enforce federal law.
“More than us having [federal agents] stationed at the county line to keep them out, you would have 50,000 Denverites there,” Johnston proclaimed.
Well, how appropriate.
Considering that more than 40,000 illegal migrants have fled to Denver since the Biden-Harris regime was installed, which is the highest number of per capita arrivals across the entire nation.
Naturally, Johnston bears exactly zero of the consequences of his totally insane policies.
“You’d have every one of those Highland moms who came out for the migrants. And you do not want to mess with them,” Johnston added frostily.
Oh yeah. Like the Trump-backed feds will be really put off by a bunch of militant feminists.
Johnston also made it clear that Denver will remain a so-called “sanctuary city,” regardless of the federal government’s movements.
Thus, with regards to providing any assistance to the federal government, Johnston aggressively declared, “absolutely not.”
“The short answer is, we won’t change that, because those are one of our core values. And we’re not going to sell out those values to anyone. We’re not going to be bullied into changing them. I think we are gonna continue to be a welcoming, open, big-hearted city that’s gonna stand by our values,” Johnston boomed.
That’s a short answer? On top of that, what “values” is he talking about? The values that wholly contravene federal laws?
Then again, Colorado was the first state in the nation to legalize “recreational” marijuana, so it should come as no surprise that the state is also militantly opposed to a number of other federal regulations.
Needless to say, Republican Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky, whose jurisdiction has been besieged by violent gang members, is less than impressed by Johnston’s rather militant, pro-illegal migrant stance.
“If Mayor Johnston wants to stand at the Denver border with, I believe he said, Highland moms, or something to that effect, it will just further show how unproductive he is. Aurora does not plan to provide the Trump administration any assistance, as far as I know, but we will certainly not stand in the way of what the American people voted for,” Jurinksy remarked pointedly.
What’s even more disturbing is that Johnston has the gall to compare his endangerment of Americans as equivalent to the Tiananmen Square protests.
You know, the same protests that Harris’s running mate allegedly attended … which turned out to be one of Walz’s many, many lies.
“It’s like the Tiananmen Square moment … right?” Johnston arrogantly proclaimed.
Not exactly.
And that sentiment is shared by real survivors of the massacre.
Xi Van Fleet, a survivor of Mao’s revolution in China, is one such survivor.
“[Johnston is] either profoundly ignorant of the history, or he did the false analogy on purpose,” Fleet remarked disgustedly.
“Profoundly ignorant” and “false.”
Fitting characterizations for the modern-day Democrat party.
