Looks like Amazon founder Jeff Bezos won’t be caving to woke mob, unlike the many spineless celebrities who can’t bear to be cancelled.
On the contrary, Bezos has bitten back, hard, against the “victim mentality” pervading the ultra-woke editors and “journalists” at the Washington Post.
In a rather pointed editorial, Bezos took aim at individuals who dared to criticize his decision to not endorse Comrade Kamala.
Apparently, such individuals fail to realize that Comrade Kamala would be bad for business, which is not only bad for Bezos, but also bad for anyone else who actually works for a living.
On top of that, individuals who work for a living are becoming rather tired of the media labeling them as “Nazis” or “deplorables” for daring to vote for someone who makes their life better … not only in terms of economics, but also in terms of basic freedom.
“In the annual public surveys about trust and reputation, journalists and the media have regularly fallen near the very bottom, often just above Congress. But in this year’s Gallup poll, we have managed to fall below Congress. Our profession is now the least trusted of all. Something we are doing is clearly not working,” Bezos declared.
No kidding.
How about covering up Biden’s real mental state for years?
Not to mention Hunter’s antics …
“Voting machines must meet two requirements. They must count the vote accurately, and people must believe they count the vote accurately. The second requirement is distinct from and just as important as the first …
Likewise with newspapers. We must be accurate, and we must be believed to be accurate. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but we are failing on the second requirement. Most people believe the media is biased,” Bezos continued.
Somewhat hard to believe when bungling Biden managed to obtain 81 million votes, or multiple millions more than none other than Obama.
“Anyone who doesn’t see this is paying scant attention to reality, and those who fight reality lose. Reality is an undefeated champion. It would be easy to blame others for our long and continuing fall in credibility (and, therefore, decline in impact),” Bezos continued.
Well, with respect, perhaps the mainstream propaganda should decline in impact.
Given that it’s responsible for foisting Harris upon everyone in the first place.
Then Bezos segues to a rather hilarious part of his editorial, chiefly when he declares that the “victim mentality” is not exactly cool.
“But a victim mentality will not help. Complaining is not a strategy. We must work harder to control what we can control to increase our credibility,” Bezos declared.
Better watch out, Bezos. He may cause riots at WaPo with that one.
Hilariously, he also pointed out how many other media outlets are gravely struggling with credibility.
“Lack of credibility isn’t unique to the Post. Our brethren newspapers have the same issue. And it’s a problem not only for media, but also for the nation. Many people are turning to off-the-cuff podcasts, inaccurate social media posts and other unverified news sources, which can quickly spread misinformation and deepen divisions. The Washington Post and the New York Times win prizes, but increasingly we talk only to a certain elite,” Bezos boomed.
Nail on the head. A “certain elite,” indeed.
“More and more, we talk to ourselves,” Bezos mused.
Yep. A total ideological echo chamber, with an increasingly smaller audience.
Former Post executive editor Martin Baron was not moved by Bezos’s commentary, instead blasting him as a “coward.”
“This is cowardice, a moment of darkness that will leave democracy as a casualty. Donald Trump will celebrate this as an invitation to further intimidate The Post‘s owner, Jeff Bezos (and other media owners) … History will mark a disturbing chapter of spinelessness at an institution famed for courage,” Baron declared ominously.
So, a dark chapter is a newspaper not endorsing a communist to run the United States?
Talk about an upside-down viewpoint …
