George Orwell’s famed 1984 has proven to be quite prescient in more ways than one, especially as many elements of the totalitarian “Big Brother” within Orwell’s work mirror several elements of the Biden-Harris administration.
One such element includes the concept of “doublethink,” which is the effective coexistence of two completely contradictory beliefs.
“Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them,” Orwell writes.
Well, when evaluating the rather pathetic response that CBS just issued in response to its blatantly heavy doctoring of the “60 Minutes” interview with Comrade Kamala, it is rather evident that doublethink has, yet again, permeated the Harris-Walz campaign.
As everyone paying an iota of attention is aware, CBS shamelessly doctored Comrade Kamala’s pathetic word salad in response to why Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not exactly endearing himself to Biden and Harris’s demands.
Her initial response to host Bill Whitaker’s inquiry defied comprehension.
“Well, Bill, the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by, or a result of, many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region,” she babbled in response, as illustrated in the interview preview that aired on the network Sunday.
By Monday night, however, Comrade Kamala had a mysteriously “more succinct” answer.
“We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end,” Harris brayed.
Wow. Just amazing how she was able to quickly – and magically! – clean up her interview response.
Though she didn’t clean up her response … CBS did, with heavy editing.
Which is precisely why Trump called out the permanent stain that the network has inflicted on its own reputation.
“I’ve never seen this before, but the producers of 60 Minutes sliced and diced (‘cut and pasted’) Lyin’ Kamala’s answers to questions, which were virtually incoherent, over and over again, some by as many as four times in a single sentence or thought, all in an effort, possibly illegal as part of the ‘News Division,’ which must be licensed, to make her look ‘more Presidential,’ or a least, better …
It may also be a major Campaign Finance Violation. This is a stain on the reputation of 60 Minutes that is not recoverable – It will always remain with this once storied brand,” Trump asserted.
Will it ever.
And, rather pitiably, the network refuses to even admit the gravity of what it has really done, engaging in shameless doublethink in doing so.
And the doublethink was rather obvious, as soon as the network attempted to blame Trump for
“Former President Donald Trump is accusing 60 Minutes of deceitful editing of our Oct. 7 interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. That is false,” the network declared.
Is that so? How is Comrade Kamala presenting a totally different response from one day to the next not a form of “deceitful editing?”
Especially when CBS proceeds to effectively admit that they did engage in deceitful editing of Comrade Kamala’s interview!
“When we edit any interview, whether a politician, an athlete, or movie star, we strive to be clear, accurate and on point … The portion of her answer on 60 Minutes was more succinct, which allows time for other subjects in a wide ranging 21-minute-long segment,” the network added.
So, in other words, CBS did edit the interview with Comrade Kamala.
And CBS made this admission after claiming that Trump’s remarks regarding edits were “false.”
Talk about pitiable doublethink.
It’s almost as if Orwell had a crystal ball that put the Biden-Harris administration, not to mention the Harris-Walz run, on full display … for the insanity that it truly is.
