“Communities were wiped off the map.”
So declared North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which devastated the state.
And, rather unfortunately, multiple Americans are now facing another round of devastation, courtesy of feckless FEMA’s shameless lack of preparation.
“We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have,” DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas declared.
Translation: FEMA funds are grossly insufficient.
Naturally, Mayorkas promptly begged for more.
“We are expecting another hurricane hitting … We do not have the funds. FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season and what – what is imminent,” Mayorkas added pointedly, before apparently pontificating about climate change.
Tellingly, Mayorkas did not detail why FEMA has grossly insufficient funds.
Though the New York Post, alongside many other reasonable media outlets, did.
Per a report from the New York Post, FEMA has spent a whopping $1.4B on illegal migrants since the fall of 2022.
That’s right: More than a billion dollars’ worth of funds reserved for natural disaster relief funds for Americans have been spent on illegals.
And now, as a result, communities across North Carolina and elsewhere are not only devastated by the storm, but also grossly underserved by the federal government.
Again.
Rather astonishingly, FEMA openly admits that it has diverted funds for illegals.
According to a description of the pro-illegal migrant program on the official FEMA webpage, the Shelter and Services Program (SSP) is apparently a FEMA necessity, as of 2022, anyway.
“The Shelter and Services Program (SSP) is administered by the FEMA in partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). SSP provides financial support to non-federal entities to provide humanitarian services to noncitizen migrants following their release from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The intent is to support CBP in the safe, orderly and humane release of noncitizen migrants from short-term holding facilities,” FEMA detailed.
Well, that’s nice. Illegals enjoy “safe, orderly and humane” assistance while Americans can basically get bent following a hurricane, under the Biden-Harris-Globalist regime.
Way to tow the globalist line, FEMA. Did Soros take control of that agency too?
Needless to say, more than one Republican is quite disturbed.
“The Biden-Harris administration took more than a billion tax dollars that had been allocated to FEMA for disaster relief and used it to house illegal aliens … Now, they’ve abandoned American hurricane victims in North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee,” Representative Jim Jordan asserted.
In other words, FEMA just happens to ignore red states suffering from a crisis in favor of illegals.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott also blasted FEMA’s absurd priorities, presenting a rather obvious solution to the crisis.
“This is easy. Mayorkas and FEMA – immediately stop spending money on illegal immigration resettlement and redirect those funds to areas hit by the hurricane. Put Americans first,” Abbott tweeted.
Indeed. A revolutionary concept under the Dems.
Of course, DHS denied the misallocation of FEMA funds just as vehemently as the swamp denied the legitimacy of the horrors of Hunter Biden’s laptop.
In a statement to Fox News, the DHS blasted the “completely false” claims.
“These claims are completely false … As Secretary Mayorkas said, FEMA has the necessary resources to meet the immediate needs associated with Hurricane Helene and other disasters. The Shelter and Services Program (SSP) is a completely separate, appropriated grant program that was authorized and funded by Congress and is not associated in any way with FEMA’s disaster-related authorities or funding streams,” the DHS ranted.
Uh huh.
Well, as noted by the New York Post, which has been vastly more honest than other media outlets, it remains “unclear” whether or not federal authorities really have the authority to redirect emergency relief funds to illegals.
Seems that the SSP would represent a rather tremendous misallocation of resources.
Especially if more than one illegal decides to exploit a natural disaster to engage in fresh looting and mayhem.
One can only imagine how Comrade Kamala would respond to the crisis … if she’s ever asked a real question, that is.
