Looks like Biden’s handlers aren’t even bothering to protect the president from himself anymore during various public speaking engagements.
Considering the doozy of information, coupled with an epic lack of awareness, that Biden put on full display during a recent appearance at a symposium at the InterContinental Barclay hotel.
The symposium also featured the leaders of Italy, Belgium, and the Dominican Republic, all of whom were witness to the president’s disconnect from reality.
In this instance, he rambles on about the fentanyl epidemic … which just happens to have exploded alongside his open borders.
“For years, to little has been done to beat this threat here at home and around the world. In fact, before I came to office, overdose deaths in our country were increasing by more than 30% year-over-year,” Biden brayed.
Right. Due in large part to government-mandated lockdowns, followed by wide open borders.
“When I became president, I made beating opioids a central part of the unity agenda, something that our entire nation could rally around, and has Over the last four years, we’ve turned that agenda into action. My administration made nal – excuse me – na-, made naloxone, a life-saving overdose reversal medicine available over the counter. You could purchase it over the counter for the first time,” Biden continued.
Is that so?
Biden might want to fact check himself … as Naloxone was available in 35 states without a prescription required.
And, one thing is for sure – the opioid crisis does not appear to be in a declining stage at any point soon.
“More deadly fentanyl is being seized by border officials in San Diego and Imperial counties than at any of the nation’s 300-plus ports of entry, making this federal district an epicenter for fentanyl trafficking into the United States …
In the first nine months of FY 2022 (October through June), U.S. Customs and Border Protection law enforcement agencies in San Diego and Imperial counties (CBP Field Operations and Border Patrol) seized 5,091 pounds of fentanyl – which amounts to about 60 percent of the 8,425 pounds of fentanyl seized around the entire country,” the DEA reported in 2022.
Well, that’s just great. Especially as a number of “US citizens” are apparently mixed up in the criminal activity.
“From 2018 to 2023, US citizens accounted for 2,315 of the 2,905 convicted drug traffickers in southwest border districts (80 percent). The number of US citizens involved in fentanyl trafficking has risen more rapidly than it has for other traffickers since 2018,” the CATO Institute reports.
Imagine how many more there may be if the Dems hand over blanket citizenship to countless illegals.
U.S. Attorney Randy Grossman noted that the fentanyl problem has significantly escalated in the past 10 years in particular.
“A decade ago, we didn’t even know about fentanyl, and now it’s a national crisis. The amount of fentanyl we are seizing at the border is staggering. The number of fentanyl seizures and fentanyl-related deaths in our district are unprecedented,”
Well, a decade ago, Obama was at the zenith of his presidency.
Russia also annexed Crimea a decade ago.
Quite a bit has happened since.
Most hilariously of all, Biden also baldly declared that fentanyl was “a national security threat.”
Despite this declaration, he appears disinclined to take real action to stop the crisis.
