“I’ve got six months left of my presidency, and I’m determined to get as much done as I possibly can, both foreign policy and domestic policy.”
So declared Biden upon dropping out of (or being forced out of) the presidential race.
And, given all of Biden’s “change” to date, the statement above is rather chilling.
After all, talk about issuing a threat rather than a promise.
Considering how Biden has now announced his intentions for what he plans to “get done.”
“I’m going to call for Supreme Court reform because this is critical to our democracy,” Biden boomed.
Of course he is.
As reported by CNBC, Biden has apparently issued a “a three pronged proposal” against the Court, “No One Is Above the Law Amendment.”
“Biden is calling for term limits on Supreme Court justices, a binding ethics code and a constitutional amendment declaring that presidents do not have immunity from criminal prosecution for any crimes committed while in office,” CNBC noted.
In other words, Biden is angry at the Supreme Court for issuing any ruling that could benefit Trump, regardless of how legally sound the ruling is.
Indeed, after the Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling on presidential immunity, Biden threw a fit.
“This decision today has continued the Court’s attack in recent years on a wide range of long-established legal principles in our nation, from gutting voting rights and civil rights to taking away a woman’s right to choose to today’s decision that undermines the rule of law of this nation,” Biden ranted.
Rather ironic talk, coming from a “Big Guy” who makes millions off of the Chinese.
And on top of that, it seems that Biden’s battle is rather “uphill,” unless he pulls another rabbit out of his hat.
“Turning his proposals into law, however, will require congressional approval, which will be an uphill battle given the current partisan split in Congress. In particular, a new constitutional amendment requires a two-thirds majority approval from both the House and the Senate,” CNBC added.
Well, Dems have shown little regard for checks and balances as of late, so it remains unclear if they will let a little thing like congressional approval interfere with their power hungry ways.
One thing is rather clear, however: Biden sure is doing a major league about-face on the Supreme Court, as he has done for so many other past political positions.
Just consider his take on the Supreme Court in 1983, specifically with regards to when four-term president FDR increased the court size.
“President Roosevelt clearly had the right to send to the United States Senate and the United States Congress a proposal to pack the court. It was totally within his right to do that. He violated no law. He was legalistically, absolutely correct …
But it was a bonehead idea. It was a terrible, terrible mistake to make. And it put in question, for an entire decade, the independence of the most significant body – including the Congress included in my view – in this country, the Supreme Court of the United States of America,” Biden brayed.
Who knew that none other than Biden himself would be aiming for the Supreme Court with his own “reforms” 41 years later.
