While Biden is hardly known for his supreme self-awareness, his post-dropout speech is especially heavy-handed on total detachment from reality.
Especially as it’s rather clear that Biden is barely reading a blatantly ghostwritten speech … which is evident from his critics’ own remarks, word for word, being present throughout his rambling monologue.
Such as the phrase “pass the torch,” which has been a bit overplayed in the last few weeks.
“I decided the best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation. It’s the best way to unite our nation. You know, there is a time and a place for long years of experience in public life. There’s also a time and place for new voices, fresh voices, yes, younger voices. And that time and place is now,” Biden boomed.
Right. One can only imagine what Biden was promised for the “time and place” of his withdrawal from the race to suddenly emerge.
Revoltingly, Biden actually invoked the Founding Fathers in his speech.
“Thomas Jefferson wrote the immortal words that guide this nation. George Washington showed us presidents are not kings. Abraham Lincoln implored us to reject malice. Franklin Roosevelt, who inspired us to reject fear. I revere this office, but I love my country more,” Biden boomed.
Is that so?
Seems that the Founding Fathers would likely be aghast at anyone spending literally half a century in Washington, D.C., regardless of political persuasion.
After all, George Washington, and several other presidents to follow, left after two terms … willingly.
In fact, all presidents left after two terms until FDR served four terms in the early twentieth century.
The unprecedented four-term madness resulted in the passage of the twenty-second amendment, which placed strict limits on presidential term limits.
Until Obama found a workaround via Biden.
“It’s been the honor of my life to serve as your president, but in the defense of democracy, which is at stake, I think is more important than any title. I draw strength and I find joy in working for the American people. But this sacred task of perfecting our union, it’s not about me. It’s about you,” Biden continued.
Sure, it is. More like it’s about whatever goodies Bribe’m Biden was able to secure from the party for stepping down, in the spirit of Bernie Sanders.
Without mentioning Trump, Biden continued to suggest that the Democrats, who have done everything in their power to reject democracy, are the only path forward for democracy.
“America’s going to have to choose between moving forward or backward. Between hope and hate. Between unity and division. Our republic is now in your hand,” Biden continued.
After four years of the Biden-Harris team’s idea of “unity,” it’s unlikely that most Americans will be overly eager to sign up for another four years, which will be even more tumultuous under Kamala.
And, of course, Biden was sure to turn his speech into a de facto cheerleading session for Kamala, claiming that she has been “an incredible partner.”
“I’d like to thank our great Vice President Kamala Harris. She’s experienced. She’s tough. She’s capable. She’s been an incredible partner to me and a leader for our country. Now the choice is up to you, the American people,” Biden brayed.
Perhaps she was “incredible” at covering up Biden’s total incompetence and incapacitation to the nation.
Outside of that, she appears to have achieved little else, aside from delivering the most epic word salads of all time.
Perhaps even more disturbingly, Biden issued an effective threat to the Supreme Court during his last “six months” in office.
“I’m going to call for Supreme Court reform because this is critical to our democracy,” Biden added ominously.
Translation: Biden will attempt to double the size of the Court, or otherwise disrupt its functionality.
Another blatant violation of check and balances, in other words.
Assuming Biden even makes it for the next six months.
As detailed by House Speaker Mike Johnson, if Biden is suddenly too unwell to run for the presidency he absolutely insisted upon running for, then he is probably too unwell to continue “serving” as leader now.
Clearly, he never was in the first place, but it’s blatantly obvious now.
“If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough,” Johnson declared.
Indeed, it cannot.
Though there should be some hilarious debates between Trump and Kamala before that, assuming that the media does not muzzle the top presidential candidate completely.
