Well, that escalated quickly.
The recent attempt on Trump’s life was bad enough, but, as it turns out, the tragic shooting in Pennsylvania was not the first serious plot against Trump in the last few weeks.
As reported by Newsmax, Iran apparently issued an “assassination threat” against Trump, weeks before the actual attempt on his life in Pennsylvania.
In response, the Biden administration apparently reached out to senior officials at the Secret Service to ensure their awareness of the threat, as directly stated by a UN national security official.
Which makes the epic mistakes made by the Secret Service during Trump’s fateful rally in Pennsylvania even more troubling.
After all, if the Secret Service was well aware of a serious threat against Trump’s life weeks ago, exactly why were there so many gaping security lapses in the weekend rally?
National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson noted that the rally shooter does not appear to be linked to Iran, illustrating that two plots against Trump’s life have been underfoot over the past few weeks.
“At this time, law enforcement has reported that their investigation has not identified ties between the shooter and any accomplice or co-conspirator, foreign or domestic,” Watson noted.
Great. Perhaps they can identify the actions that will be taken next time to prevent another tragedy.
“Secret Service learned of the increased threat from this threat stream … NSC directly contacted USSS at a senior level to be absolutely sure they continued to track the latest reporting. USSS shared this information with the detail lead, and the Trump campaign was made aware of an evolving threat. In response to the increased threat, Secret Service surged resources and assets for the protection of former President Trump. All of this was in advance of Saturday,” the official informed CNN.
Except none of it was enough to prevent tragedy from unfolding.
Frankly, if the Biden administration was aware of the heightened threats against Trump’s life weeks in advance, exactly why did Biden call for a “bulls eye” on Trump mere days before the attack?
After all, Iran’s desire for “revenge” against Trump is no secret.
“Iran has for years considered a plan to get back at Trump for his killing of top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani in 2020. But the officials said the intelligence has ratcheted up in recent months and officials have become more confident in Tehran’s intentions. They also said there may be more attempts on Trump’s life in the coming weeks,” Politico reported.
Well, of course “more attempts” may occur. After all, the media is hardly dialing down its rhetoric, and the ultra-left certainly isn’t.
Heck, quite a few ultra-left individuals, including an FBI staffer, have expressed regret that the assassination attempt wasn’t successful.
Indeed, as noted by the Daily Mail, an FBI staffer posted a meme that remarked, “Awww so close,” with regards to the Trump shooting.
Troubling. Rather scary that so many Americans implicitly support the Iranian regime in this regard.
“As we have said many times, we have been tracking Iranian threats against former Trump administration officials for years, dating back to the last administration. These threats arise from Iran’s desire to seek revenge for the killing of Qassem Soleimani. We consider this a national and homeland security matter of the highest priority,” Watson observed.
Alas, for years the Democrats have also presented Trump as an “imminent threat to democracy,” clearly encouraging domestic threats to grow alongside international threats.
At the rate quite a few ultra-leftists are going, it is sadly no surprise that “more threats” may be unfolding in the coming weeks.
