Looks like Michelle Obama may well pose a major threat to Ms. Kamala Harris’s obvious presidential ambitions.
Which is evident from the media’s continued adulation of Obama’s wife, who may well be anointed as the Democrat presidential candidate at the forthcoming DNC.
Indeed, Michelle Obama has made no secret of her fears regarding a second Trump presidency, as she declared earlier this year.
“I am terrified about what could possibly happen, because our leaders matter. Who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit, it affects us in ways that sometimes I think people take for granted,” Michell Obama declared.
However, Ms. Obama is apparently no fan of Biden either, largely due to his son’s abysmal treatment of his former wife, Kathleen Buhle.
Indeed, Buhle appears to be the only decent person associated with the Biden clan, given that Hunter not only cheated on her with his deceased brother’s wife, but he also squandered a substantial percentage of their savings on human trafficked prostitutes and narcotics.
Amazing that Biden considers Hunter the “smartest” person he knows.
Needless to say, Michelle Obama is not impressed by Hunter’s antics, which is why she has hardly been a passionate campaign advocate for Biden.
Axios reported that Michelle Obama has deliberately steered clear of the Biden re-election campaign, especially in comparison to her power-hungry spouse.
“This year Barack Obama has attended fundraisers and appeared in videos for President Biden’s re-election effort, but Obama has done so solo, without his popular spouse … The former president regularly praises and boosts Biden in posts on X, but Michelle Obama hasn’t posted about Biden’s re-election campaign since he got in the race,” the publication noted.
Apparently, the only social media support that Ms. Obama was willing to provide was a simple re-post of Biden’s campaign announcement. That was it.
And while many have assumed her absence of support may be fully due to Hunter’s antics, another potential reason has emerged, especially following Biden’s brutal debate performance: Michelle herself may become the presidential candidate.
A recent survey from Reuters revealed that 55 percent of voters have a favorable opinion of Ms. Obama, versus 37 percent who feel similarly about Biden.
Apparently, the same poll also claimed that Ms. Obama was the only Democrat candidate who might beat Trump, with Kamala Harris, Gretchen Whitmer, and Gavin Newsom all coming up woefully short.
That said, several argue that Michelle will not become the presidential candidate, in large part due to the apparent restrictions on freedom, as she perceives them.
Peter Slevin, who authored Michelle Obama: A Life, insists that the former First Lady has no interest in becoming president.
“It was eight years of an ordeal. And she asks: ‘Why would I do that again and try to be in charge?’ She doesn’t want to put herself through it for one thing, and she feels as though she’s done her time in the public eye,” Slevin declared.
In remarks to the Daily Mail, presidential biographer David Garrow also insisted that Michelle Obama would not run, and that she personally preferred for her husband not to run either.
“She has never in her entire life had any interest in elective office, and she was consistently, deeply uncomfortable with Barack wanting to be a politician right from the early 1990s onward. She could not wait for them to get out of the White House,” Garrow insisted.
His remarks are supported by public statements expressed by Michelle, who apparently missed “the ordinary things of life” while her husband was in office.
“We can’t do the ordinary things of life, you know, like go to a movie theater … I joked in Covid when people asked ‘when we were all in quarantine how did it feel?’ and I was like well, it was kind of easy for us because we’ve lived in quarantine for like, you know, a decade!” Ms. Obama declared.
Interesting. Are multimillion dollar mansions all over the place, from Hawaii to Martha’s Vineyard considered “ordinary things of life?”
Because they sure became commonplace for the Obamas following their time in the White House.
That said, despite the detractors, none other than Obama himself seems to suggest that someone like Michelle could be a great president … provided that he calls all the shots behind the scenes.
In 2020, Obama astonishingly declared that he would happily call the shots while a “stand-in” masqueraded as president.
“If I could make an arrangement where I had a stand-in, a front man or front woman, and they had an earpiece in and I was just in my basement in my sweats looking through the stuff, and then I could sort of deliver the lines, but somebody else was doing all the talking and ceremony, I’d be fine with that,” Obama bragged to “comedian” Stephen Colbert.
So, who else would routinely be around Obama, while he is in “sweats” in his basement?
Seems like Michelle would be the top choice there.
Which makes Biden’s self-defense even more ludicrous.
During a phone-in interview with MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, Biden did little to offset his increasingly combative demeanor.
“Who else do you think could step in here and do this? Run against me! Challenge me at the convention,” Biden bellowed.
Well, Mr. Biden, be careful what you wish for.
As Obama may just “challenge” him on a grand scale after all.
