Well, that escalated quickly.
It started with CNN admitting that the trial against Trump in New York City likely would not have happened for anyone else whose last name was not Trump.
Now, none other than former Democrat Andrew Cuomo, most notorious for being ousted from the governorship in New York, has surprisingly come to Trump’s de facto defense.
“If his name was not Donald Trump and if he wasn’t running for president … I’m the former AG of in New York, [and] I’m telling you that case would’ve never been brought,” Cuomo declared.
Well, one could only hope that’s the truth.
After all, Cuomo clearly has the incentive to embellish a bit at this point, especially as he sees the tide amongst Americans is shifting even more strongly in Trump’s favor.
Or, at minimum, favor in law and order espoused by Trump and repelled by Biden and Harris.
Including the law and order that the very courts are supposed to follow, rather than demolish.
“That’s what is offensive to people, and it should be because if there’s anything left, it’s belief in the justice system,” Cuomo asserted.
That’s absolutely right. Which is probably why the Democrats have expended substantial effort targeting it.
“New Yorkers said – 66 percent said – the justice system is politicized. And there’s nobody in New York who likes Trump … And still, 66 percent said the justice system is politicized. That’s why I think he’s not paying the same price for these verdicts, because they believe it’s political,” Cuomo continued.
Frankly, 99 percent of New Yorkers should have said that the trial was politicized, with 1 percent excused for possibly not understanding the question.
That said, 66 percent is still a startlingly high figure for woke respondents who most definitely had the incentive to claim that the trial wasn’t biased against Trump at all … even though it clearly was.
One of the best parts of Cuomo’s diatribe against the Dems was the fact that he also blasted the real threats to democracy, at least as he perceives them.
“And you want to talk about a threat to democracy: When you have this country believing you’re playing politics with the justice system and you’re trying to put people in jail or convict them for political reasons, then we have a real problem,” Cuomo boomed.
Absolutely right. If anything, individuals will be voting for the preservation of the American foundation as intended by the Founding Fathers, rather than the destruction of it due to the woke mob backed by the likes of Soros and his ilk.
The type of ilk that results in individuals like Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg having an extraordinary degree of power to pursue presidential candidates rather than legitimately dangerous criminals.
Who hilariously harp on and on about Trump’s alleged falsehoods.
“These knowing falsehoods are just the latest examples of defendant’s patent disrespect for the rule of law and the impartial administration of justice … As defendant’s continued conduct makes clear, the need to protect participants in this criminal proceeding and the integrity of the criminal justice process from defendant’s attacks remains critically important,” Bragg’s team insisted.
Right … except “the integrity of the criminal justice process” has been totally undermined by the blatantly politicized DOJ.
