She may no longer be Speaker of the House, but she sure does wield her mouth as though she were.
Indeed, according to a report from The Hill, Pelosi has incensed several Democrats through loudly declaring her opposition to the imminent visit from one of the United States’ longest-standing allies: Israel.
“Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has fanned the flames of the internal Democratic battle over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coming speech to Congress, questioning the wisdom of the invitation just days after it was endorsed by Democratic leaders in both chambers …
The liberal Pelosi, who led the Democrats for most of this century, has a long history of clashing with the conservative Netanyahu, Israel’s longest serving prime minister — a feud that reached a previous height in 2015, when Netanyahu last addressed lawmakers on Capitol Hill. That invitation came from then-Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), who sidestepped President Obama and Democratic leaders to bring the Israeli leader to the Capitol – an episode she still resents,” The Hill reported.
So, in other words, the long-term career politician Pelosi apparently “resents” someone overruling her.
Despite the fact she is worth an estimated nine figures due to her shameless insider trading, Pelosi still isn’t satisfied, and she is apparently willing to cause a major public conflict when she is not pleased.
Real mature. Though quite indicative of her real personality.
Worst of all, Pelosi attempted to blame protestors for her own protest against the most critical ally that the United States has in the Middle East.
“I think that it’s going to be very provocative, and he shouldn’t be invited … I don’t know what he’s going to say, but it’s going to provoke protesters anyways,” Pelosi ranted.
Oh, by all means. Let the paid “protestors” dictate who should and should not come speak in DC.
Because that worked out so well for universities.
Next thing you know, Pelosi will likely be gunning for the Hamas leaders to come to DC to make their non-existent “case” for terror.
After all, that’s what the so-called “protestors” want.
At least some Democrats had enough sense to call out Pelosi’s nonsense for exactly what it is – senselessly divisive.
Democrat Representative Juan Vargas declared that he was “disappointed” with Pelosi’s rather brazen remarks.
“I was disappointed because I think it does make things more difficult for our leadership … They made a decision, the decision was a tough one, and we usually hang together. Honestly, when she was Speaker, we hung with her, and I was hoping she would do the same,” Vargas remarked.
“I was hoping she would do the same.”
Unfortunately, Vargas, that would require self-awareness, character, and ethics … all of which Pelosi sorely lacks.
Democrat Representative Stephen F. Lynch also weighed in on Pelosi’s unbelievable behavior, noting that Israel has, and will continue to be, a longstanding ally, whether Pelosi likes it or not.
“Israel is an ally, and many of us support Israel without supporting Netanyahu. And I think that’s the basis upon which Mr. Jeffries made his decision. This was a courtesy to an ally, and not anything more … Obviously, she’s the former Speaker of the House, and I think comments like that are not helpful to the cohesion of the party,” Lynch remarked coolly.
Perhaps the kindest way to define what Pelosi is really doing.
Rather ironically, Pelosi’s behavior is also highlighting the unity of the Republicans … the type of “unity” that Biden falsely claimed that he would be bringing back to the nation.
“Republicans, by contrast, are virtually united over the war, backing Netanyahu’s aggressive show of force and urging Israel not to stop until Hamas is eliminated,” The Hill noted.
In other words, the Republican position on terrorism remains the same as it has been since 9/11 – no excuses.
The Dems cannot claim a similarly stalwart position against terrorism, especially with multiple antisemitic “protestors” cavorting with even more antisemitic “Squad” members.
Perhaps most disturbingly of all, Pelosi apparently has a major problem with Netanyahu for daring to voice opposition to Iran becoming a nuclear power.
“He came and he criticized Obama on the Iran nuclear deal. It was awful,” Pelosi whined.
Oh, dear! How dare Netanyahu tell Obama that letting Iran become a nuclear power is a terrible idea!
What’s it going to take for Pelosi to wake up?
A nuclear bomb dropped right on her hometown, courtesy of Iran?
Though, knowing her, she will conveniently be out of the country right before that happens.
However, her philandering husband may not be so lucky.
